mattius had never been on a date before. sure he had gone and hung out with girls before, but they were never in a proper date form. this was the first time he was getting dressed up to take a girl out, and if it wasn't for his cousin, he would have nothing to wear tonight. taking a deep breath, he looked in the mirror, straightening his shirt out. it was rare for him to ever look like this. usually he went out in a tee shirt and some jeans, and often he would catch himself wearing plaid. but never a nice shirt that he was sure to get food all over. mattius slicked his hair back before heading downstairs to his car. he had agreed to meet her there, since they never really had hung out before. but they had been talking on the internet, and his cousin and elliot urged him to go out with her. it would be best for him to get to know her before picking her up though.
he headed over to the restuarant, and when he arrived he got out and headed inside. they had agreed to meet in the inside of the place and then go from there. he had no idea what tonight was going to be like, but he was definitely nervous. bentley had warned him that he needed to treat her good, but he didn't think he would have a problem with that. mattius was a really sweet guy. and sure, he was a perv sometimes, but most teenage boys were pervs at times. but deep down he was just a sweet guy who wanted to be cared for. when the door opened, he watched lissy walk in and he smiled. "hello," he said, his thick accent showing.

Lissy had been on dates, but they never really seemed to mean that much to her because it was always the same thing happening each time in the past and all the guys she went on them with clearly just didn’t want to be here and got bored. That wasn’t exactly something that made Lissy want to go on a second date, so many of her dates consisted of a one date and that was it thing and she was always hoping for things to change. She always seemed to wonder just what she did wrong; perhaps it was her that needed to change because she seemed boring or unwilling to do many of the things other people wanted to do. Sure you could call her old fashioned but she was one of those people who were just fine with eating out, instead of really doing anything. Sure she was also one of those people who wouldn’t mind just going for a walk, but sometimes the weather wasn’t for that, like tonight. Tonight it was freezing, and she just hated the cold weather.
She was wearing a dress tonight which was very unlike her since the accident, she was always known to wear jeans and long sleeves hiding all of her dresses in the back of her closet away from her sight so she wouldn’t have to remember just how different she now looked in them. She traced her finger over the scars on her arms, and the one on her face that once use to be covered in burn marks. She was so glad that now all there was were scars and much of the damage was done, sure there were parts she could not feel. Parts of her body so damaged, she could be stabbed there and feel no pain but she really didn’t really care, she was supposed to die in that fire with her family but she didn’t and her scars were there to really just remind her of that and she wasn’t going to let people say things about her and stare at her for that. She hated people staring at her all the time, like she didn’t even have feeling and oh did she hate the pointing, she just despised the pointing.
Arriving at the place she was supposed to meet Mattius she was actually really nervous, she had only had the chance to really talk to him online and there she was able to use old pictures of herself where there were no scars or burns on her face and her body but now in this dress. She had to bite down her lip and take a deep breath to stop herself from running away, he seemed to want to see her when she had talked to him online and she just hoped that didn’t change. She just really wanted someone to finally look past the way that she looked; there was nothing to do to change it after all. Walking over to Mattius she smiled, “hello” she said quietly hoping and praying her nerves haven’t gotten the best of her yet.

it was weird for mattius to be nervous, but he was very nervous tonight. he kept rolling up his sleeves while he waited, and playing with his hair. it was so unlike him, but he was sure they were good signs. he took a deep breath before checking his phone for the time. he was a bit early, which was good. he did not want to be late, because that would be the worst. and he would feel extremely bad having her wait for him to get there. when she walked in he definitely knew it was her, and he said hello and she said it back. "how are you?" he asked her, not being able to get past his accent. mattius hoped that she could understand everything that he was saying. some people couldn't understand his accent and they were always asking him to repeat what he said. and then most of the time they still didn't know what he said, even after repeating it tons of times. "sorry if you can't understand me sometimes. my english can be very bad, and sometimes my accent gets in the way," he said. it was good that he was pretty fluent in english, but he got the tenses and things like that mixed up all the time. he couldn't help it though, he wasn't from here. it would take awhile until he understood everything completely.
mattius had made sure to reserve an extremely nice table. it had taken a bit of persuading because the reservation was kind of last minute, and the place was really nice and hard to get into anyways. but mattius was good with people, and he worked his charm to get what he wanted. the waiter came over to them and mattius stated his name, telling him that he had a reservation for two. the waiter then walked them to their seat, sat them down and handed them menus. mattius asked him for a soda, and then looked over at lissy, smiling. "thanks for coming tonight. i wasn't sure if you would come," he said. "bentley seems really excited me and you are hanging out," he added. it was true, bentley was happy, but he also kept threatening mattius telling him not to do anything stupid. but that was not mattius' intentions at all. "so ummm... tell me about yourself," he said, peering down at a menu.

Honestly Lissy was very nervous herself, she hadn't been on many dates before and after the accident she was really nervous that she wouldn't get any since she had so many scars and really looked so different than she once use too. She use to be beautiful, at least that was what her father would always say. She looked so much like her mother and honestly that was really something she took pride in, she had loved her parents so much that the fact that they were both dead now was still so hard for her to really get over. I didn't help that even though her parents both died she got to live, that really would always be something that she just couldn't seem to get over and when she sat down she smiled and shrugged. "I suppose I'm alright, it's just really been a pretty long day. One of those days where time just seems to go by so slowly" she hated days like that, those were really some of her least favorite days. She also seemed to really find Mattius' accent really cute, it was obviously different since he wasn't around here and he really liked that. "I like your accent, it's sort of cute" she added quietly almost.
When she went and sat down she was really able to take a look around at the place, it was a really nice place she had to admit and she really wondered how he was able to get a table at such short noticed but she wasn't going to go and ask or anything. She actually thought that asking would seem a little rude and ordering a drink she looked at Mattius, "oh it's really nothing. I mean I don't really have many people asking me out and I like talking to you so it was hard to me to say no" she smiled a little bit that almost to say that she really did mean what she was saying and she wasn't saying that to try and get him to trust her and then ruin everything. "Oh and well there isn't all too much to say, my name is Lissy and I am eighteen. I'm going to college for teaching, literature because I always loved literature and writing" she said. She actually really seemed to think that she sounded like such a boring person really; she never really did anything that was really all that fun anymore. She seemed like really a pretty tame person, and that was just no fun at all.

mattius was a really handsome guy. he was a mix between his mother and his father, he had his mothers hair, but his fathers facial features. and when he smiled, it really was the mix between both of them. there were many people who found him very attractive, but he really tried to be modest about it. he didn't walk around like he was the hottest person ever, but he also knew that he wasn't bad looking, so he still tried to have a bit of confidence in him. mattius frowned a little bit. "i know how that can be, really. but i hope that maybe being with me can make your day a little bit better," he smiled a really cute smile. mattius would try and make this a really good night for her, he really did not want to ruin her night or make her hate him, or anything along those lines. she seemed like a really sweet girl, and he did not want bentley kicking his ass. she said something softly that he didn't seem to catch. "what'd you say?" he asked, looking at her.
he was hoping that he choosed and alright place to eat. he asked around and people told him that this restaurant was a good place to bring someone on a date, so he was hoping he didn't make a mistake by choosing this one. "this place is okay... right?" he asked her, before looking up at her once again. mattius was worrying that the date wouldn't be great for her, and he wanted to make it great. "that just makes it so much easier for me to be able to take you out," he smiled at her. mattius was glad not a lot of people were asking her out because it made it so much easier for him to be able to get her out with him. "literature, hmmm. can't say i am very good at english or that, but maybe because i am not from here. but i am mattius and i am going to college for music, maybe to teach someday. i haven't really decided yet," he smiled.

When Lissy was younger she had one of those dorky looking kids, she would wear about anything and thing it was the cutest outfit ever even though often times it wasn't. She looked a lot like her mother, but she had her father's eyes and that was something that everyone would tell her when they seemed to look at her. When she grew up she grew a lot prettier, but then there was the accident that took her family and left her with the scars that she had everywhere. That wasn't really something that she liked to talk about because it was all in the past now and just a very tough topic, she really hated having to think of her family and how they were actually gone and looking at Mattius she nodded. "I hope so, I would love it if you made my day better in fact" she smiled a little bit glancing at the table when he asked her what she said. "I said that I like your accent" she tried not to blush but knew that she probably was, it really was easy to make her blush.
She glanced around the place they were at and shrugged, "it seems like a pretty nice place to me. I mean I am not very picky and it's been awhile since I've been here in town so this place is pretty new to me" she hummed a little bit to herself trying to pick the right words to say since she hadn't been on many dates before now. She didn't really mind that though, she wasn't really one for dating but that didn't mean that she didn't date. "Yeah I suppose that it is easier for me to go on a date with you when not many people are for asking me out, I think that the way I look is a turn off to many of them since I have my burns and my scars. They don't seem to look past that all that much" she sighed, she always did hate that. "I love literature, I am always reading. I love to read in fact" she smiled as well, "and teaching music sounds like a good idea" she added.
