Well, it was finally happening: she was going on a date with Zayden. As she was getting ready, she kept talking about it with her mom, who had a strained smile on her face. Caitlyn knew that her mom didn't like the idea of her going on a date, but she had been waiting forever, even if it wasn't really date: but, in her mind, it was. Daisy was thrilled for her, too, so Caitlyn was happy. Before Zayden had gotten to her house, her mom warned her that she should be careful, and Caitlyn promised, but she doubt anything would happen: this was Zayden! She and him have been best friends for years, and for all she knew, he could still think of her as a friend and a sister, so she hardly doubt he'd think of her like that.

As they entered the Brass Lantern, Amy, one of her co-workers, had looked shocked. It was probably because Caityn always talked about Zayden here, it didn't cross her mind that she would be on a date with him. Caitlyn smiled at her, and as they settled down in a booth, Caitlyn looked at him. "I'm having fun so far."

[/color] Even on the way here, they talked and joked just as they always did, so there was no awakard moments, or silence between them. For Caitlyn, this was just a dream.

strangely, zayden was very excited for this night. he couldn't keep in one place and he had been a bit nervous. it all started with a chat, that's for sure. zayden was just joking. he never expected caitlyn to say yes. even though, it was half a joke... he couldn't believe caitlyn didn't turn him down. it made his heart rejoice. even until now, he was quite confused. he wasn't sure of what he feels and he's starting to worry about them. he can't fall in love with his best friend. its wrong. she would never like him back that way... never. but this one little date was zayden's only hope. or at least, he feels like it is. his cousins kept teasing him about it but he just kept ignoring them. he just wanted this to be perfect for caitlyn.

he had fixed his hair several times in the mirror. he was nervous, but he won't let anyone see it. he bit his lip and picked her up. he tried to act cool and surprisingly, he was doing a good job. at least he hoped so. ever since that night at the ball, caitlyn always stood out in his eyes. zayden smiled and nodded. "me too... I missed this hang outs." he chuckled as they joked around the car. zayden was already legal to drive and he has license. he just borrowed the car from his cousin. he found a seat for them and smiled. "so... take your pick, i'll pay everything you eat." he joked and grinned at her.

Caitlyn smiled at him. Besides Daisy, Zayden was someone Cairlyn could enjoy hanging out, and joke with. He also gave awesome advice, and was one of the people she called when she found out that her dad was having an affair, as well as when her parents were fighting and were going to have an divorce. He was just always there for her, and everyone had teased her because she loved him, but she didn't care: just like what Daisy had said, you couldn't help but who she fell in love with, and she fell in love with Zayden, simple as that.

She bit her lower lip, and looked at the menu that was in front of her. She was one of those girls who could eat anything, and not gain a pound (although, as she got older, it'll catch up to her, sooner or later), and she looked at him. "I don't know what to pick..everything looked good."

[/color] And she didn't say that because she worked there, but because it was true. Then, her face brighten, and said: "Maybe I'll have a cheeseburger and fries, with pickles on the side."[/color] she said, closing the menu. It was probably her favorite thing on the menu, and no one complained. "How about you? What are you having?"[/color] she asked.

zayden had before dated a count of girls. he wasn't a player though. he respects girls a lot. he knows they deserve better than to have their hearts shattered and cheated on. though, his relationships doesn't really stay long. maybe once or twice it did but they never really seem to work out for some reason. zayden treats his girlfriends as best as he can. he does everything to make them happy but there are times when he would figure it out himself that it wasn't simply supposed to be. some of his ex girlfriends were to clingy. some of them didn't want zayden to hang out with anyone else and some of them believed in rumors too much. it was their problems too. or maybe sometimes it was mutual decision to stay as friends... but things just really don't seem that way. he didn't want caitlyn to be one of those girls. he didn't want caitlyn to be his ex girlfriend then their friendship would just drift away that's why he's afraid... apart from rejection that is. zayden needed caitlyn to be there beside him all the time. though, zayden knew caitlyn was different. she understood him and had been there since forever. zayden just wanted to always be around her. no girl was like her. she was unique. she was one of a kind. she was the perfect girl for him, that was for sure. zayden let out a chuckle as caitlyn chose her food and nodded, "that's quite specific." he grinned at her then looked at the menu and shrugged, "you know this place better than i do... and the cheeseburger and fries with pickles doesn't sound bad, so i'll take what you did."

Caitlyn blushed at his remark. It might have been really specific, but it was what she always ordered when she camr to the Brass Lantern, on or off the clock. She loved resturants like the Brass Lantern because it had food for everyone, and not just one specific type, like pizza. "I know: I think I've been here for so long that I know what I want, and they never seem to ask me anymore."

[/color] Which was true: the people who worked here who have always worked here knew what she wanted, and it never changed. She looked at him, and grinned back. "You can have whatever you want: you don't have to get what I'm getting."[/color] she said.

Since this was a date, Caitlyn should have chosen something fancier, but at the same time, she didn't want things to be weird between them (like there was any). And sure, she wanted this date to be special, but just being with Zayden was good enough. Most of the guys she had dated were complete slime-balls, and finding a guy like Zayden was like trying to find a diamond in a pile of rocks: Zayden's type was kind of hard to find, even at this day and age. Why her mom was so scared about her going out with him was beyond her.

zayden flashed caitlyn one of his famous smiles. she was definitely something. she was the girl zayden has always wanted to spend all of her time with. there was no one else. whenever she seems him with someone else gives him the jealous feeling. no one knew caitlyn more than he did. only zayden knew the truth about her and he wouldn't want anyone else to do so. caitlyn was his and only his. though, they weren't official but zayden would want them to. maybe after this night he would ask her. and maybe he'd finally call her his.

zayden let out a little laugh and nodded. "yeah, but i know everything you do is great so.. i'll take the same." he said with a wink. he used to always wink at her to joke around. even this time. but it actually means something right now other than a joke then looked around. this place wasn't so bad. he'd rather this place than a super fancy restaurant. not that he had a grudge against them. but it was just... it was just because he wanted to talk a lot with caitlyn and laugh with her. like they always do.

Caitlyn smiled back. There never seemed to be another guy, and she never wanted to have another guy: before Zayden, most guys took her for granted because she was pretty. Or, her last relationship ended because the guy she was with cursed at his dog, and abused it, so she ended it because of animal cruelty. But, she believes she found a great guy in Zayden, and he really was: he knew stuff not a lot of knew, including Daisy and her mom, who were two of her closest friends besides Zayden.

She laughed when he winked. "Well, thanks. I'm glad you do."

[/color] she responded. Even though she had been in here a thousand times, she always liked it. It was one of the first places she had applied for, and had gotten a call-back. Sure, it wasn't glamorous, like some jobs, but she loved her boss, and her co-workers were really nice, too. It almost felt like home to her. "Are you two ready to order?" Caitlyn turned to see Amy looming over them, with a pad of paper and a pen in her hand. "Yeah, I think we are."[/color] She started to say what she wanted, but Amy stopped her. "I know what you want, so you don't have to say it..how about your boyfriend?" she asked, and Caitlyn blushed.
