It actually seemed like all they did. she looked at the table laid out so neatly and waited, he said he wouldn’t be too late but she didn’t know just how late he would be. she loved him but it was hard, so many things were going through her head right now. He had been working late often, and yes he was working on his movie or whatever…so was she and there were times where she would be working late too, but sometimes it seemed like he did it so he could avoid seeing her, so they could avoid the arguments but that often made it worse for them because they would argue about that. the press didn’t help because they were always speculating about them whether they were going to break up any time soon, she figured that his fans would be happy if they broke up, some of them were quite horrible to her and she’d had death threats previously. She looked at the clock and sighed. okay well she would start making dinner soon and hope that he would be back. she knew that the dinner wouldn’t make everything okay but she was trying to. she was trying to save them. It took her a while to get the meal perfect and just how she wanted it and she finally managed to get it in the oven. It wouldn’t take long so she hoped that he would be back really soon, it had now been a couple of hours since he called and he had told her he would be back in the next few hours. The food was ready and she turned the oven down, leaving it on a little to keep it warm. she then waited…..waited and waited until she had been waiting nearly an hour, she decided to have her dinner because it was getting late, she was up on set early the next morning. she left a note for him telling him dinner was in the oven and that it was still warm then went upstairs. about fifteen minutes later she heard the key in the lock and decided to go downstairs. looking at him she knew instantly that he’d been out at a bar. She folded her arms and looked at him working late on set, hmmm? you could have just told me you were going to a bar, I wouldn’t have cared she said trying to hold her tears back I spent ages on your meal tonight and even delayed making it because you said you would be later but…. she shook her head why? Riley sighed. He knew that Brooke would be mad, and he had lied to her saying that he would be working late at the set. But, where was he? At The Stallion, hiding from Brooke. Riley shook his head, and gulped down his water (he didn't like drinking if he was driving), and placed down on the table. He wanted to think about his relationship with Brooke, and the reason why. They have been fighting a lot, and it seemed about the same thing: having a baby. He knew Brooke wanted one, and Riley wanted a baby, too, but it never seemed to work out, and they fought about it.

He stood up, and was about to leave when a voice called him back: "Leaving so soon, Mr. Jemsen?" the bar-tender asked, and Riley nodded. "Yes, Henry, I am."

[/color] Henry bit his lower lip. "Going to see Ms. Cooper, yes?" he asked. The corners of Riley's mouth turned into a small smile. Henry was the old bar-tender at The Stallion, and was the only bar-tender who didn't treat Riley like a celebrity he was. He actually treated Riley like a normal person, and listended to Riley when Riley was in trouble with Brooke. He was like a second dad to him. "Yes, Henry, I am. I lied to her about where I am, so I have to straighten things out."[/color] he said. He noticed his hands were shaking, and Henry shook his head. "Mr. Jemsen, please sit down. You don't need to drive right away." Riley just shook his head. "It's okay, Henry. Keep the change."[/color] he said, slapping a twenty on the counter, and out of the bar he went.

When he got to Brooke's house, he was immediately confronted by Brooke: like always when she knew he wouldn't be coming. "Brooke, I..."[/color] he started to say, but when he saw that she was crying, he felt bad. He didn't like seeing her cry, and he had seen her cry a lot of times: on and off set. He walked closer to her, and embraced her into a hug, kissing the top of her head. "I'm sorry I lied to you. I just wanted to think about things."[/color] he said, looking at her tear-stained face. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #d96a70 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] cos baby you're a firework Brooke let him embrace her and found her arms round his neck why can I never really stay mad at you? she sighed slightly what about us? she asked him. she knew what he meant though, the fought alot, it wasn't normal....and yet they both wanted the same thing, a baby. she secretly worried that they couldn't conceive, that she was the problem and when they found that out he would leave her. she loved him so much and didn't want him to leave.she wanted them to be able to work things out and to have a family. maybe we should talk then she told him simply and went into the kitchen to get them both a drink. she poured herself some wine and him a beer. if she was honest she knew that If they were trying for a baby she shouldn't be drinking but ideally she wanted to be engaged before being pregnant, plus she didn't want to be huge going down the isle, if she got pregnant and then engaged that would be fine she guessed. she would just see how things planned out. maybe it was all a little bit wishful thinking, she just wanted things for her wedding day to be perfect. she could never say that she wanted to marry someone else. she knew Riley was the one, they just needed to overcome their problems. she came out from the kitchen and passed him the drink then took a sip of hers.here they had moved in together about a year ago and thought things would be even better than it had done before. she sat down on the couch and gestured him to do the same I know things haven't been easy for us recently she paused and took another sip probably since we moved in together she sighed. I really love you, I want to make it work between us she said looking deep into his eyes. she knew he would probably not like what she was about to say, but it made sense. I want to be at least engaged before we have a baby she told him. it was just being honest, she was being honest with herself, as well as him.it needed to be said how do you feel about that? she asked. yes, she did want it to be a surprise when and if he proposed, but she was just saying. Sure, Brooke always got mad at him, and she always said that. Riley knew he would never, ever get mad at her, even if she did something scandalous, like cheat on him. He held back a chuckle, and he looked at her. "It must be my good looks: no one could stay mad at me, even if they tried. I know this because no one had gotten mad at me since elementary school."

[/color] he said, giving her a small smile. He always did this when he was nervous: he make jokes, and he knew it annoyed Brooke when he did that, but he couldn't help it.

"It wasn't just us I was thinking about."[/color] he said as he trailed after her, watching her disappear into the kitchen. He sighed, and sat down on the couch, rubbing his face. She and him both wanted to start a family, but it wasn't easy. Riley had to think it was him, because he knew if it was really Brooke, she would be heart-broken because it always one of her dreams to start a family. If it was him, then he would do the right thing, and tell her to find someone else who could make her happy. He truly loved her, but if he couldn't make her happy, then he didn't know if he could be with her.

When Brooke brought him a beer, he took a swig of it, and licked his lips. Hearing what she said was all things he had heard before, but this time, there was something different in her voice. "I love you too, and I want it to work out too..."[/color] he trailed off, taking another swig. He bit his lower lip, and he looked at her. "What are you implying?"[/color] he asked, already upset, even if he didn't know what she was about to say. Great: he had a hard day at the set, and now, possibly, things might take a turn for the worse. Maybe he should have stayed at The Stallion.

But, he sighed in relief when she said that she wanted to get engaged before trying to have a baby. He got worked up over nothing, it seemed like, and he had been planning to surprise her with an engagement ring soon. "I think that's a good idea."[/color] he said. When she spoke about them getting tested, he knew it was probably the right thing to do before they tried, and see if something was stopping them from having a baby. When he saw her put her head in her hands, he rubbed her back. "It'll be okay, Brooke. I prormise."[/color] he replied. He felt wrong saying that, but what else could he say to make her feel better?

Riley smirked. "Possibly. Everyone said I was a good kid."

[/color] When he was in elementary school, he had gotten really good reports, and his parents were really proud of him, except sometimes he would get in trouble with the teacher when he and his friends were goofing off. Maybe the teacher never had the tolerence for kids like him, because she always said that he was her least favorite student of the class, and Riley saw that as a compliment, even if it was suppose to be mean. "How so? Why, are you mad at me right now? Because if you are, I can make it up to you, you know."[/color] he said, giving her one of his mega-watt smiles that he was known for,

He bit his lower lip, and looked at her. "Just things..more about our baby. I know when it's born, it'll be beautiful, just like us. I know I couldn't live with myself if we can't have one. I just want you to be happy with someone else if I can't fulfill your dream of starting a family."[/color] he said. He knew she wanted one with him, but he'd beat himself if he wasn't the one to give one to her. He'd knew having animals to fill the void or adopting a baby wouldn't be the same, and he knew it.

Riley shook his head. "That you were breaking up with me."[/color] he told her softly. He had been with other girls, but Brooke was special. He'd never met a girl like her, and he doubt he'd find one that wouldn't compare to her. He'd also knew that a lot of guys would kill him to have Brooke as theirs, and Riley wouldn't let Brooke go that easily, even if she did have eyes for another guy (which was untrue, but it could still happen).

He took her hand, and kissed it gently. "I know you don't want to break up, but like I said earlier, I'd like you to be happy if I can't make you happy. Even if that means having a baby with another guy. I wouldn't mid if that was the only option we had. But, you're right: whatever the outcome is, we'll get through it together, and if we can't have a baby, we'll consider all other options."[/color] he told her. She knew she'd the hate idea of breaking up, and he did too, but what if that was the only option they had?

I was always really bad at school she told him. that was a lie, when she was little she was a little angel, once she got to high school it wasn't that she was bad, more that she didn't bother as much with school, she was more interested in cheer leading, her friends, partying and boys, oh and acting. Riley smirked. Brooke, bad? He didn't believe it. "You weren't, and I should know: When we were over at your parents', your mother was showing off your good attendace awards, and everything. It made me feel bad, because even if I didn't do that good in school when it came to that."

When his parents had divorce, he had started to miss school: not on purpose, but when his parents were in the mist of getting a divorce, he and his siblings had managed to stay home for several days. Riley knew it was wrong, and he knew back then if he wanted to be an actor, he had to go to school, so he focused on his schoolwork instead of thinking of his parents and the hard times. Riley bit his lower lip, and he looked at her. "I'm sorry. And that dress? It's always been my favorite."[/color] he added, grinning.

He made a lock and key motion with his hands, and his grin got bigger. "I'm not telling you. You'll just have to wait."[/color] he said. He knew Brooke will beg all she wanted, but he wasn't telling her just yet. When the time comes, then he will. He shook his head: he knew she wouldn't like what he said. "I know adoption isn't the same, but at least we could take care of a child, and breaking up isn't even better, but if we can't have one, then what else is there?"[/color] he asked her. He wanted a baby more than her, and could always imagine being a dad with a son or a daughter to love, care for, and give advice too whenever they asked.

Riley shook his head. "I don't think I would have been a good friend: not even a boyfriend at the time."

[/color] In his school days, he mostly kept himself, but he did have friends, he just focused on his studies more, and hung out with his siblings since his parents were fighting a lot. Most of the kids at school didn't know what Riley was going through (except for his closest friends and siblings), and that made Riley felt a little lonely, but at least he has his family to count on when things got rough, and they most certainly had over the years. He smiled at Brooke. "I saw a picture of you in your cheerleading uniform. You did look good."[/color] he responded.

He kissed her back, and he pulled away, he bit his lower lip, and looked at her. "I know breaking up is not an option. I just want you to be happy...I just feel like everyone wants me to be perfect, and it's starting to get to me."[/color] he said. To be honest, being famous was starting to get to him, and not in the good way. He was starting to crack under the pressure to be perfect, and be a person that everyone can look up too, that directors and co-stars wanted to hang out with, and be a good boyfriend for Brooke when in reality he wasn't any of those things: maybe it was just the way other people see him, because he sure didn't see it that way. A small chuckle escaped his lips as Brooke demended that she made herself clear. "Like crystal, ma'am!"[/color] he told her with a smile on his face.

Riley sighed, and he nodded. "You know I would never leave you: believe me, I would never do that."[/color] he replied, looking at her. He knew a lot of people were waiting for him and Brooke to break up, but he knew he and Brooke would last for a long time. He grinned. "Barrie? Well, I don't want any Kens around you, neither."[/color] he added, giving her another smile.

Riley smiled, and he looked at her. "Thanks, but I was kind of a loner. I didn't have too many friends, and the only true friends I had were my siblings, but I'm glad you would have been my friend."

He never knew her until they met on their first movie together, and got to know each other then. "I know most girls don't like to be called "sexy" or "hot", so that's why I chose good."[/color] Riley replied. He knew Brooke wouldn't have cared, but he didn't want to make her upset.

"I know I shouldn't care, but I do care: alot. I bet a lot of the Hollywood stars feel that way...don't you feel sometimes that you aren't good enough?"[/color] Riley asked her. He would think it would be the other way around, but he and Brooke were under the public eye a lot, and now Gossip Girl was on their tail, too. But, what she was saying was true: no one knew what was happening behind closed doors, just them.

He hugged her back, and when he pulled back, he laughed too. "I agree: they love nothing more than a juicey break-up story."[/color] he said, giving her a small smile. He laughed even harder when Brooke was being dramatic. "It was, but I think it's cute when you're dramatic."[/color] Riley stated, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
