CAUSE MY HEART IS YOURS, DON'T YOU WORRY YOUR PRETTY LITTLE MIND the hallways of the highschool were always crowded but today she had been late to her first class and just skipped altogether. she wandered the halls hopeful she'd run into someone familiar. florence would strike up a conversation with anyone, she liked getting to know new people and finding out what they really were like. florence had tons of friends and had a lot of parties to attend to on weekends. florence liked to let loose on the dance floor and just be free. her life back in france was usually forgotten about and left in the back of her mind. her mom was always out on weekends anyways with her boyfriend, she had no other siblings too. it was the perfect place to bring back whoever was willing to come back with her. those one night stands had assured her that all guys are jerks, they always left. but, there was one boy who just kept coming back to florence. she was always used to guys being in her bed and being in and out of her life. they always promised to call but nobody ever did. only one guy ever called her the next day and that being parker to ask if she wanted to hang out again sometime. he was also the only guy who liked her while she was sober too.
as florence thought about parker she couldn't help but smile and blush. the first time they slept together he left in the middle of the night and she woke up alone. the second time, he stayed the night and she made him breakfast... the many times after that he usually stayed as well. they then had the talk of being friends-with-benefits. which was something florence had been okay with at the time.. but since they were spending a lot more time together and she attended most of his football games she started to see him in a new light. she wasn't sure what made her fall for him, all she knew was that she liked spending time with parker whilst sober and alone together. it was bond to happen, she realized it always did. friends with benefits was something that never worked out. someone always got feelings for the other person and it went down hill from there. if parker didn't feel the same as she did then she didn't want their fun to end. she rather be in his life secretly keeping all her feelings to herself than be out of it and have it be awkward.
florence kept a normal pace down the long hallway, her shoes clicking on the tiled floor below. she was listening to her iPhone and bopped along to the beat of cher lloyd's song 'oath'. she wasn't watching where she was going and suddenly hit somebody. she stumbled backwards and fell on her bum, "ahh." she said in pain from the blow and started to scramble for her books. "i'm terribly sorry, i wasn't watching where i was going!" her accent trilled across her words and she continued to look to the ground a bit embarrassed. when she recovered all her books she stood up and saw that she had bumped into parker. "i guess i should've guessed you would've skipped first period as well." flora said as she touched his arm lightly. "you weren't at the party on saturday, i was wondering where you went." she furrowed her brow playfully before returning to her usual smile. florence looked back down to the ground before looking back up at parker, she couldn't believe she had just rammed right into him. Tip toeing out of the house he was approached by his dog wanting to play, Charlie he whispered go away the dog did not listen and just followed him to the door. Parker opened the door and ran down the road, hearing his dog barking from the front room. He was being sneaky because he was late for school and had missed the first period. It did not help that his father was in the office at home working either. If his father had of caught him leaving for school late he would have been in serious trouble. This was mainly due to the fact that his father wanted Parker to be on the football team and maybe even get into a footballing college. Parker's father pressured him into playing football and even though his other siblings played it his father tended to pressure Parker the most. He had no idea why, maybe it was because he had a talent for the sport.
Parker was wearing a pair of 3/4 length jeans and a white tee with a red hoody. He had sunglasses on his head as he began to walk down the street. He finally entered the school grounds and made his way to the study room. He sat down, placed his bag on the table and opened it, taking out a note pad and pen. He began to write To whom it may concern, Parker was late to school today as he had an appointment with the doctor. Sorry for using his school time to be medically assisted. Thanks, R.Jones He ripped off the paper and placed the pad and pen back into his rucksack.
He walked away from the desk and back into the hallway, his head was down reading over the note. That was when he bumped into someone, they hit his chest and then fell to the ground, he saw the mass of hair and then heard the accent. Flo he said with a light laugh as he went down to attempt to help her up. Actually, I skipped by accident! he said holding his hand up in his defence as he answered her question. So, why are you late? he questioned. Plus, I have this fake note to get me out of trouble he said wafting the note in her direction.
He thought about Saturday and said quickly, Ah, yes Saturday! The mother of mine decided to have a birthday, so all of us went to that Indian restaurant in town. Damn owners thought we had a football team going in there...we were like,..yeah, this is our household. he said looking as though that comment was normal. He came from a huge family. There were about 10 of them in total, his mother was quite maternal, but his father, he was an manipulative ass, but no one seemed to notice.

CAUSE MY HEART IS YOURS, DON'T YOU WORRY YOUR PRETTY LITTLE MIND this morning her father luckily had been way too drunk to notice her leave. he had been known to threaten herself and her mother before. when flora was sent to live with her dad for a week then back to her moms for the rest of the month, she hated it. her father was like her mother in the sense that he left her all lonesome in a huge house. she found herself wanting attention and bringing over friends just to fill the void that her parents left her. they tried to make an effort to buy her presents and other material items. they even let her throw parties for her and her friends. it just wasn't enough for young flora. she started to think the reason she slept with all those different guys was because she was lonely. they made her feel something but then they left so quickly that she found herself feeling more useless than ever. it was a vicious cycle that she was doomed to repeat until she met parker. they briefly talked about seeing other people whilst keeping their little 'friendship' going. truth was, flora hadn't slept with anyone else since she started feeling more emotional connection to parker.
as her shoes kept click clacking down the hallway she quickly sent a text to anya mentioning how sorry she was for missing first period. flora rarely missed classes but today had been an exception. they had been reading hamlet in english class and who cared about shakespeare? she never really was fond of english class and it was relieving to know she probably only missed the theater geeks acting it out. she briefly imagined them at the front of the classroom all confident in their speaking ability. one time her teacher called on her and some people snickered at the sound of her accent. she really tried to make it go away but the american accent was difficult and foreign to her.
when florence bashed into what seemed like a wall, she should've guessed that it was parker. he had the physique of a brick wall from all those football practices. flora would know, she felt weak whenever she got to touch his arms. at the sound of him saying 'flo' she smiled, he was the only one she would allow to call her flo. everyone else called her flora, flor, or just plain florence. she really didn't want anyone else to use that nickname. she took his hand and he helped her back up, "merci," she said lightly, "me too, my alarm didn't go off so i got locked out of english." she shrugged, she really didn't care actually. florence laughed lightly at the note he waved in the air, she covered her mouth with her hand. "your penmanship has always been impeccable, you've mastered your mothers signature." she removed her hand before adjusting her books in her right hand.
flora listened as parker explained why he wasn't at the party this weekend, she had missed him and went home alone. many guys had tried to pick her up but she refused to let anyone else into her bed. she laughed at his comment about his family, her family was quite loud back in paris. "i bet it was like a football team in there. i'm just glad you had fun, i missed you though." she pouted slightly and then returned to her normal perky smile. florence wished she could read parker's mind sometime's, right now she was wondering whether or not he felt the same way around her that she did around him. "you didn't miss much, randy was passed out before midnight so i had to take him home. he nearly crushed me to death." she rolled her eyes, her and randy had history and none of the other people wanted to. knowing flora was a kind soul, they all asked her to walk him home. she was stuck helping a huge drunk football player who was putting all his weight on her tiny frame. "hey, whens your next game. you fell asleep last time before you got to tell me." flora asked changing the topic yet again.
