Anya was laying in the Hospital bed with about what seemed like a hundred wires all hooked up to her. Thankfully, elliot and Vanessa had picked her up from Sante, and driven her to the hospital and were staying with her while they waited for her doctor to show up and hopefully keegan. She at the moment was alone.. she asked Nessa and elliot to wait downstairs for anyone. she was starting to get a wee bit annoyed at all the fuss she was getting.. she was only having a baby! she sighed and remembered the last time she was in a hospital... it was for an ultrasound... She'd gotten pregnant once before, but it wasn't to last. an accident ended that beautiful life and anya was hurt to say the least. She held Keegan tight andcried for days it seemed like, but finally they decided to try again, now here she was again... this time she'd be going home with two healthy babies, and maybe a home to go home to... if her parents didn't decide to kick her out.

Now she Looked at her Harold.... the dog looked old, but smelt of Channel number 5, and incense... just like her mom's room in Brooklyn, so it was a comfort to her... she wanted to remember her mom somehow... and that dog was this perfect way. She winced as another contraction hit her with a strong pang of pain, and she wondered when she would see her doctor.

When she heard that Anya was in the hospital, she had rushed right over there, saying good-bye to her parents without explaining where she was going. If they got mad at her, so be it: Anya was one of her best friends, and darn it, she was going to see her! Alison ran into the hospital, panting, and the nurse that was stationed there looked at her oddly. "Hello, Alison! What are you here for?" the nurse asked, and Alison looked at her. "I heard Anya was having a baby! George and I wanna see her..please?"

[/color] Alison asked, refering to her stuffed giraffe that she always carried with her. The nurse nodded as she got up from her desk. "Of course, follow me." The nurse was friends with Alison's parents, and knew well of Alison acting like a child, so she didn't question it.

As they reached Anya's room, the nurse looked at her. "Alison, just so we're clear, please be quiet, and considerate, okay? Anya's in a diffcult time." the nurse explained, and Alison nodded. "Okay! George and I will be quiet! Right, George?"[/color] Alison said, looking at the giraffe, and the nurse smiled, walking away. Once Alison was alone, she felt scared. She knew that Anya was having a baby, but she didn't know what to do around Anya. Talk to her? Maybe that'll help her keep mind off the baby for a while. "George, maybe you should poke your head in her room: maybe Keegan's here already."[/color] Alison grabbed the giraffe out of her guitar shaped back-pack, and made George stick his head inside, hoping to distract Anya.

Anya Smiled. "So what's the joke George?" She asked. Anya needed anything to keep her mind off of the pain that was about to occur. She loved Alison and George... they had been her saving grace... Anya could be a little too serious some times, and Alison taught her to open up and laugh like a crazy person someday's. She loved bonfires and would often sing when asked... not all that often enough. she knew once she told her parents they would disown her in a heartbeat. they had told her ' if she had ever gotten pregnant they would not hesitate to kick her out and disown her' so now she would have to call them soon to tell them the truth, and that happened it was going to be a bad scene.. Anya could lose her temper really easy and she didn't want the stress of crying and dealing with them, but if she didn't tell them, they'd be more upset. Damned if she did and damned if she didn't tell them... what a hard decision.

What to do? Anya only felt like an abandoned little child and it wasn't an easy feeling. she felt, lost, alone, un wanted... so many emotions. Why didn't her parents approve of her and keegan? why didn't they approve of her with anyone to be exact? why was she totally in love with keegan and her parents couldn't even see it? when would she ever get over what her parents thought of her and be herself. to her parents she was the failure, the one child they couldn't control. The Child that needed prepatory school and strict up bringing.

Alison bit her lower lip. So, Anya was having twins? That was amazing: twice the fun, but probably twice the work. Alison cautiously walked into the room, the nurse's words buzzing around her like bees. She sat down in the chair that was beside Anya's bed, setting George down on Anya's bed so the girl could see him better. "Hey, Anya...are you doing okay?"

[/color] Alison asked. Alison wasn't her bubbly self, and she knew it. Alison didn't act like a child all the time, and understood adult things, like Anya being pregnant with Keegan's babies, and now Anya was going into labor. It was exciting, yet terrifiying at the same time.

Trying to think of something funny for George, she smiled as Anya said that one of the babies was kicking inside of her. "Well, George has a joke for you, and he can't wait to tell you."[/color] Alison said, giving her friend a smile. She came up with the joke herself, and she thought it was quite clever, so she decided to let George use it to tell Anya. Of course, the fact that she believed that the stuffed giraffe was real (her own mother even thought it was real one day) explained that she could have a problem, but she was only trying to make Anya happy, and momentairly forget about labor for a few moments.

[garrald steven vickers]

It was finally over after a year and a half of searching and desperation, Garrald had found Tommy. He'd used the man's lifeguard girlfriend to track him, followed him to his apartment, and killed him in a most brutal fashion. There was no doubt in his mind that the murder would be on the news, but the dark-headed New Yorker didn't care what the media said. He hadn't grown up in a mafia family and studied psychology in his spare time to get caught by the police due to some stupid mistake. He's left nothing behind and not even allowed anyone to see him enter or leave the building as well as careful about fingerprints and fibers. He had even worn a different pair of shoes that he'd melted the sole off of so that no one could trace the pattern. It was pretty much the perfect crime and it gave the young man courage knowing he could do it; knowing that his sister's killer was killed, he could finally rest easy at night and not feel like he had to spend every waking hour of his life hunting the man down like an animal.

When he traveled back to his apartment, he went to remove the bloody clothes and accidentally texted Anya only to find that she was in the hospital and he suspected she was going into labor. She was the only family he had left and owed it to her to be there and so took a quick shower to wash the blood from his skin and hair before taking the elevator to the basement of the complex. Once in the bowels of the building, he tossed his clothes and shoes into the incinerator to burn away the evidence, knowing blood never washed out completely, but kept the hunting knife in his pocket as a souvenier to remind him of the vengeance he'd taken out on Tommy.

With the evidence taken care of, Garrald drove to the hospital to see Anya. He asked the receptionist where she was located before being directed there and came into the room, smiling at his niece, "Hey. Sorry I'm late. I was busy with some work and had to shower first." He walked over to her bed and kissed her cheek then patted her shoulder. Garrald turned to look at Alison, whom he greeted with a warm smile then turned his attention back to Anya, "So has the doctor been in? I mean, what's going on?"

Alison thought about the joke. She knew it had something to do with wood..Suddenly, she brighten, and she looked at Anya. "What was wrong with the wooden car with the wooden wheels and a wooden engine?"

[/color] she asked, voicing George. It doesn't look weird when Alison does her George voice, because she believes the stuffed giraffe is real anyways. She always had an over-active imagination, even before she hit the ripe age of twelve, when this whole acting like a child idea started.

As she was waiting for Alison to reply, another person whom she knew walked in, and she smiled very big when she realized it was Gerrald. "Gerrald, hey!"[/color] she said quietly. She quickly learned that Gerrald and Anya were niece and uncle, and she didn't understand why Anya could just stay with Garrald, but maybe his job permitted her not too, but she thought it'd be a good idea if she did.

Keegan was shocked, the thought of being a father had really come as a shock to him and for the longest time he wasn't even sure if he would be a good father. His parents were obviously very disappointed with him, the minute they had figured out what was going on they had basically flipped out and told Keegan that he was a failure at a son for letting these things happen so he had basically left. He was now staying with one of his friends in till he decided that he was done being annoyed with the people who raised him and he decided to try his chances at home again, and till then he was avoiding them at all costs. He had enough stuff to be worrying about lately, mainly the fact that his girlfriend was now in the hospital and he had to get there as fast as he possibly could which meant speeding to the hospital.

He knew that speeding was dangerous but he really wasn't good under pressure, and the only thing that he could think was he had to get to the hospital as quickly as possible and making another turn he basically skidded to a stop in the parking lot and jumped out of his car. Sure he was a little late but he was here now, and taking a deep breath he hurried into the hospital and up to the floor he was meant to be on asking the person at the front desk where Anya was. He hardly listened to what the women said before he hurried right to the room; "I'm here" he was speaking first and basically just out of breath now. He wasn’t even acknowledging the others in the room; he’d do that when he could breath.

Anya felt less alone now that her uncle was here. she smiled. "Not yet, young doctor probably" She made a joke. "So.." she whispered " is it done? is she resting in peace at last in your memory?" She asked in whispers. She knew of what he was looking for.. or more whom.. "So, how are you uncle?" she asked making polite conversation... it was only to pass the time as she waited for keegan and the doctor. "Please don't yell at me for taking Harold with me.... it's all i have of her left..." The memory rang out clear... she was 5 and her father had discovered Harold. he wanted Anya to accept her new mother right away... it hadn't happened. she had refused to accept her to this day. the woman was a gold digger, and a harlot. thank god he father had kicked her step mother out. She had smiled as Rosa closed the door on that woman. She also had taken off that night... couldn't take being in that oppressive house any longer. She took Harold and her backpack and showed up at Alison's house... Her parents weren't worried... Her uncle had been, But then she was alright. Alison was trusted by Anya and her family, they all trusted Alison. Just then a wave of pain hint anya and she started to scream in pain... Surely this was it... the babies would be arriving soon. She wished the doctor would hurry up. There was keegan, the man she loved. The father of her two children, that were rapidly deciding who was to be born first.

the hospital was buzzing with newcoming patients, it was way too busy and there was only one other doctor in tonight. they were short a doctor and it really wasn't helping some awful injuries were coming into the hospital tonight. he had finished looking at a kid who had basically cracked his tibia right in half in a car crash. then after that he had a woman who cut off her finger.. he had to handle multiple patients all at once. once he dismissed a patient he had three more lined right up. times like this troye really wished he had more than three arms. not to mention, most of the female doctors weren't in and as much as troye had learnt about ladies, he still felt a bit uncomfortable doing all these things. troye went from room to room delivering x-rays, prescriptions, giving stitches, and giving bad news... this night was going by so slow and not to mention they wanted overtime from him. troye was having a tough time running on just caffeine and having papers shoved in his face this way and that.

just then, he saw a stretcher pushed across the floor. a young girl who was obviously very pregnant had strolled in. troye sighed and hoped he wouldn't be assigned that patient. the midwife wasn't in tonight for some reason, she had called in sick probably. a nurse walked in by troye, "this one's for you troye. anya shouldo, pregnant with twins, highschool student. she had a miscarriage in the past for be careful. room 203, she's barely" the nurse said urgently, handing him a folder with all of her medical history. troye rolled his eyes and groaned, he really didn't have much experience delivering babies.. he was only an ER doctor but he had been trained in med school for these things. she was so tiny, he would have to do a c-section.

troye went to about ten rooms before even getting to anya's. he felt horrible for being so late.. but he was a doctor, people were required to be patient with him. there was more pressing issues than a baby, plus she wasn't dilated all the way yet. he would have to give out the appropriate medications to numb the pain. he called his trusty nurse mel to come help him. he really needed her strength while doing this.

troye entered the room and saw a bunch of people inside, one redhead carrying a stuffed animal who looked about the same age as anya. a young boy with curly hair, he was huddled close to her, he guessed that to be the father. finally, an older man who was watching over anya closely. he assumed this to be anya's father or guardian. "doctor troye reed, sorry for the delay.. it's like a bomb went off in there." troye said using his thumb to point to the hallway where many people were running around. it was a zoo in the ER tonight. "so, i read over your file.. you're having twins, congrats!" troye said smiling at anya. he walked right up to the bed. mel (his assistant) huddled close to troye, her presence was making him a little less shaky. "since you're so tiny, we need to do a c-section. we also have to distribute some pain killers in your lower back to dull the pain." troye said flipping over the paper on the sheet and writing down the exact measurements he'd need in the needles, he handed this clipboard off to mel. "sit up." troye said taking out his stethoscope and putting it on, "breathe in and out for me." he said placing the listening part on her back. "perfect, we're all good. stay calm." troye glanced around, all the family members were a little close but he just knew they were concerned about the young girl.

as soon as he got the IV's, he told them all what was inside. "okay, these are all painkillers so you can't feel from your waist down." troye said, he injected them into her lower back. "i'm gonna prep for surgery, you're allowed one person with you. they also have to suit up in scrubs to enter the surgery room. we'll be in surgery room 7 mel, wheel her there in about 15 minutes. i'll be there with a couple other nurses to assist you. see you soon sweetie." troye's voice was very smooth and assuring. the family members had about fifteen minutes to process what troye just said. he would have to check into one more room before heading to the surgery room. he was ready to perform his first c-section.

It was 15 minutes later, and anya was finally resting up. She needed it and so would everyone else.. But it was worth it. there were two new babies brought into this world. Charlotte Jade was born first, followed by a shocked anya when they said "and it's a boy!" Anthony Keegan was quite the susprise, and everyone was also susprised that she had one of each.. but proud of anya. Even her dad had called and asked if she was okay. when she said "Yeah, dad... your a grandpa to two very healthy twins... a baby girl name Charlotte and a Boy named Anthony" she thought she heard a sniffle comming from the old man.

Anya was now looking at the two babies in there isolettes and she couldn't help but think back to the day she was born. her father had told her that her mom called him from the hospital and he rushed over as fast as he could. Nearly missed the birth of his second daughter, but he was there when anya came screaming into the world and when he said she was to be named Anya like her mom, well... he said he never regretted saying that. He loved the fact she was a lot like her mother and less like him,but she still looked up to her dad as the superhero in the family... When her mother passed away, he raised two girls on his own, managed to keep the family held together and even met a "nice" russian lady who turned out to HATE anya and her sister with a passion. Well, she was gone now, and nothing was spoiling this moment of remembering.
