After her mom dropped her off at Sam's house, Caitlyn felt giddy with excitment. This was probably her first Valentine's Day Ball ever, and she wa able to attend (the other ones she'd ever been to were lame). Knowing Sam, she made it so everyone could attend, and not just the elites, so she was happy to be here regardless. Walking into the front door, a worker took her coat, and told her to have a good time (followed by a creepy wink), and Caitlyn rolled he eyes. Obviously, this wasn't your typical party, so that probably no sex or drinking was allowed (unless it was approved by Sam first, which she hoped it didn't come to that).

Walking into the room, she noticed several people have arrived, and she could tell some of them were lower or middle (like her) because chances are, the elites would arrive late, because that's how things work. And since everyone was wearing a mask, Caitlyn couldn't tell who it was, and she really wished that Daisy had came because at least she would have someone to talk to before Zayden arrived.

Normally, Caitlyn would be going around, and talking to people, but this the first time that she's nervous, and slightly awakard, even when she does look her best. And she didn't want to bug Sam, because she knew she'd be with Ryan anyways (it was a Valentine's Day Ball after all), so she made a bee-line for the refreshment table, where there were drinks for people under twenty-one, and Caitlyn grabbed a glass water, taking a small drink, observing her surroundings.

The real reason why Zayden was even in L.A. is because of Cait. He wouldn't admit it, but he had been missing her quite a lot ever since she left. Zayden wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Sure, he'd miss her... they were best friends. But... in a way... Zayden had been dating girls, and he haven't really been feeling anything for them... sometimes he actually.. imagines being with Cait instead. Which is really wierd for Zayden. He never really saw Cait in a romantic way.. they were best friends! If he even tried anything, Cait woul probably dump him and say they were better off as friends...

Zayden looked at his appearance in the mirror and smiled. For some reason, he wanted to look as presentable as he could. His tux were just borrowed to his cousin and with his job, he got a mask for himself. He wanted tonight to be amazing. At least for Cait. He wasn't really sure how to act in such parties. He wasn't that invited to formal parties for he wasn't even part of the elite class. He was just in the middle. If it wasn't for his relatives here in L.A. he would be in the lower class, working for all his needs.

Zayden had been there quite early... even if he didn't knew anyone there but a few of his friends that he met from his cousin. He felt like an outcast a little but once Cait was here, it would be all over. That girl was something. Zayden and his friends stood by the drinks. Zayden already knew what Cait was wearing. At least her mask. Zayden asked to see it so that they wouldn't have a hard time with each other. After a few minutes, a girl came to them.. with a familiar mask. Zayden smiled at himself then walked to her a bit. "Hello." He said as he got himself a drink. "Sorry if I bother you but that mask looks quite familiar." He smiled at her.

Caitlyn wished she had brought her sketch-pad with, so then she wouldn't look like a total loser like she was now. But, she promised Daisy that she wouldn't bring it, and Daisy had kept it hostage at her house until the party was over. At this idea, Caitlyn had protested, but deep down, she knew it would look weird that she had brought her sketch-pad along to the party. A party meant mingling, but it was hard for her to that when, as stated, she didn't know anyone, so that's why she was standing here like a complete idiot.

Every so often, she would look to the door to see if Zayden, but no luck, and she sighed. Maybe he decided to not come, but she really hoped he did. Maybe it was obvious, but she always liked Zayden, and it was one of her secrets, and the only person who knew she liked him more than a best friend was Daisy, and she was grateful, because if it fell into the wrong hands, then she would be extremely embarrassed, and then Zayden would realize her feelings for him, and think it was totally weird, and never talk to her again: and she really didn't want that to happen.

Caitlyn got excited all over again when she saw Zayden walk to her: finally, he was here! "Hello."

Being around L.A. was a big adjustment for Zayden. He wasn't sure how people were and he wasn't sure of how the life around here goes. His cousins gave him 'tips' on how to live in L.A. He never really liked the idea that paparazzi were always around. His cousin said that once you were known around L.A. or affliated with an elite class, or a famous person, things are going to get thrown here and there. That was never a good thing. The first thing he did in L.A. was to find a high school. He refused to attend a school without seeing Cait. He made sure he was in the same school as she is. But then, he didn't really got all the same classes as her. Just some of them. His relatives wasn't as rich as the celebrities and they also had children, themselves. Zayden didn't want to be a burden and found himself a job as a barista. There was where his life started.

Zayden smiled as his eyes gazed from her head to toe. She looked perfect in every angle, as she always was. Zayden doesn't really know what he feels for Cait. It was wrong to like a best friend, nor love one. It would be awkward... and Cait would never like him in a romantic way. Even though they flirt, Zayden knew it was just a little harmless tease between them. A harmless and friendly flirting. He didn't want to loose her, though. He wanted Cait to be there in every step of the way. She knew everything about him as he does with her. People around them always say when they were children that they spend too much time together. Perhaps they do, but Zayden didn't want to change that. Everyone else teases him in middle school that he would fall in love with Cait. At first, he wasn't really sure about the idea for he almost saw Cait as a sister but now... he was starting to doubt himself. Zayden grinned at the girl in front of him. "Is that so? Hmm... We must've known each other." He said, still going on with this little 'play'. Zayden took a sip of his drink, it would calm him a little bit. He placed it down and smiled then looked at her, "I must say... you look quite amazing, mystery girl." He chuckled at her. They both know what's going on but its nice to play along.

Being in Los Angles has been really good to Caitlyn: she works at Brass Lantern as a waitress, which she loves, has met (and be-friended) a local Elite (meaning Samantha) and waa re-united with Daisy, so she couldn't complain about living here. Plus, the weather was always awesome, and who didn't like sunny weather? Certainly Caitlyn, who walked or skate-boarded everywhere she goes. When she and her mom got to Los Angeles, her mom told her to explore the city, and so Caitlyn did, who loved exploring it so much: it was everything she imagined it would be when she and Daisy had planned their future road-trip together.

Caitlyn blushed, and she smiled at him. "It's possible. This is Los Angles, after all."

[/color] She was surprised when she found out that Zayden was going to the same school as her, and when she found out that he was some of the same classes as she was, that just made her excitement sky-rocket. It was always nice to have your crush in the same classes as you, and it was even better if your crush was one of your best friends, too. Pretty soon, her face turned the exact same shade as a tomato, and she bit her lower lip. "Thank you. You don't look too bad yourself."[/color] she replied, giving him another smile.

zayden wasn't really sure about what would happen in los angeles. here, it had a society. that didn't really matter to zayden. afterall, he couldn't really see himself getting involved with elite people that much. though, there was the gossip site. his cousins said that site made everything worse around l.a., it spread out different gossips. but for now, zayden didn't care. there was nothing about him anyway. perhaps he'd just enjoy everything around here with caitlyn. especially this night... yeah... he'll enjoy this night with his best friend.

to zayden's eyes, no one was more beautiful than caitlyn tonight. she was beautiful inside and out. there was no one else he'd rather spend the night with... then again, he'd spend his time with her all the time and not worry a thing about it. he never gets bored with her and that's another thing he loved about her the most. the two had their own jobs and classes, but they always gave time to one another. they... they were like twins... in a way. they can't be separated in anyway possible. zayden gave out a grin and looked around. "would you mind a dance with me, mystery girl? he chuckled and offered his hand for her and bending a bit, trying to be like those guys in movies.

It was a good thing that Zayden didn't know about the online blog: there was nothing bad about her (or him) on it, but there were some pictures with her in them on the blog. One was a picture of her and a guy friend at a basketball game, and the second one was her and her one of her many celebrity crushes, Nick Jonas, hanging out at her house. Daisy had scored her the date with Nick because she knew how much Caitlyn had liked him. And with those pictures, he could probably think she didn't like him that much any more, but that wasn't true: she liked him a lot, so those pictures didn't mean a thing.

She smiled when he asked if she wanted to dance. "That would be lovely."

Her body was tingling with happiness: Caitlyn had been close to Zayden before, but dancing with him was totally different, and people could probably see how big she was grinning, but she didn't care. She was dancing with her crush, and that was all that matters to her right now.

everyone else in the ball had long ball gown-prom dress like the traditional style but caitlyn wore a plain, pink prom dress. zayden won't ever complain about it. it described who caitlyn is. she's unique and simple. she's herself and she wouldn't copy another person to be better. she would just be herself. the perfect caitlyn that zayden grew up with and had started to fall in love with. everything about this girl made herself perfect. zayden grinned as she agreed to the dance, he held her hand and led her to the dance floor. he smiled through the mask and wrapped an arm around her waist then held her hand, "our first dance?" zayden said and moved closer to her. he could feel himself blush a bit, he just realized how much he wanted this. the feeling was different as it did to other girls. this dance had a different effect on him and he loved every second of it. zayden just wanted to remove her mask, it got in the way of her beauty. she didn't need it. she didn't even need to wear the accessories. she was beautiful in any way possible. zayden wanted to see the beautiful face of the girl who had captured his heart.... "i wasn't kidding when i said you looked beautiful tonight." he whispered.

Caitlyn smiled as he led her on the dance floor. "Looks like it: I wouldn't dance with anyone else."

[/color] She felt like Cinderella, dancing with Prince Charming, but the only thing she didn't have to worry about was her ride turning back to pumpkin, and the curfew of midnight. She could just stay dancing with Zayden until then, she guessed, or however long Sam had this party go until. She just knew she didn't want this night to end.

A shiver ran up her spine, and she blushed. Just being close t Zayden always did, but his words were what did it this time. "Thanks. You just made my night. And I knew you weren't."[/color] she replied, giving him a smile. Caitlyn often wondered why girls weren't after Zayden (she was curious). He was so sweet, and an awesome friend. She knew of his past relationships, and was happy (secretly) whenever one of his relationships hadn't worked out. Maybe it was just another mystery to her, but for now, she will enjoy this moment that she has with him.

zayden smiled at caitlyn as they danced along with the music. it was his and caitlyn's first dance. thought it wasn't his. he had danced with girls before but nothing was as special was it was with caitlyn. zayden would want to be caitlyn's first and last dance and he was glad caitlyn would want this dance to be with him and no one else. "i'm glad." he smiled and watched her. she was far more beautiful and perfect than the princesses she watch on movies. better than cinderella, better than belle, better than ariel. and every other disney princesses. zayden grinned and moved a bit more closer to her. "i just like speaking the truth." he said. it came out naturally. perhaps he really did feel something for caitlyn. it was no denial from the spark he felt while holding her close to him. there was a spark, there was electricity around them that seems to protect them. it was the best feeling he felt. sure, he had felt sparks before. but none of them was as intense as what he was feeling right now.

When Caitlyn was little, her dad (before he became stupid, and cheated on her mom) used to read her fairy-tales about princesses, princes, and dragons. Her favorite fairy-tale was Snow White, because she was the princess who interacted with animals. But, tonight, she felt like a princess, and Zayden was her prince. "Well, I like it when you do. It's one of the reasons why I like you."
