Today was all about rehearsing on stage for the concert Sam was performing in a few days. The stage was up against one side of the stadium with a huge sea of chairs surrounding it. A bridge with really low railings connected the main stage to a section further out into the crowd that looked like it was from a fairy tale. Sam had been in the stadium for about an hour rehearsing a few possible songs for the concert. She and her band essentially were dancing around the stage having fun while everyone else tried to set up lighting and special effects to the songs.

Sam was center stage in a purple silky dress that her stylist wanted to test out on stage. The next song they would play was "Crazier". Sam had previously sang this song for Ryan when they had briefly been public with their relationship. Now, they were pretending to be broken up for each others' safety. They hadn't really seen each other much in the past few weeks because Sam was being watched more closely by paparazzi when she was out and about in the city. Singing this song always made her feel so much closer to him, whether he was there with her or not.

Sam sat down on the lip of the stage and started singing while playing her acoustic guitar.

Part of the visual effects for the song were video clips of a pair of models pretending to be in love and doing all of the things Ryan and Sam used to do together. The models were shown cuddling on a couch, running around on a beach, having picnics in the middle of fields of flowers, and dancing like idiots to fun music. Sam stood up and continued playing along to the song.

During the chorus, the two models had been shown spinning around and the guy picking up the girl and tossing her over his shoulder. Sam remembered so many times when she and Ryan would be fooling around like that and how good it made her feel.

Sam stood at center stage and closed her eyes, seeing a beautiful picture of a man and a woman slow dancing in her mind. They looked so happy and that's all she ever wanted in life.

Sam heard clapping from the audience and looked up, wondering who could be at the rehearsal.

Ryan loved Sammy. You could just look into his eyes, the way he looked at her, felt about her and all he was doing for her safety. Their relationship was called off in front of the media and they pretended that they have had a break up. They only kept in touch either skyping or on calls. They avoided meeting because paparrazi would always be there on their tails, never leaving their life for even a single second. it was hard to manage but they were used to this. prevention was better than cure. A true saying. He couldn't keep on increasing guards protection for Sammy, that would get people curious and he didn't wanted his secret to be out. Even his mother didn't know about it. In order to give away the impression of his break up, he wrote a sad song, confessed in interviews that he wasn't into dating or love anymore . He gave the excuse that they both were too young to be serious so they were better off focusing on their careers. it was quite hard but he had no choice. he couldn't dare to put sam in any kind of problem. she was too precious to him. she was his best friend, the love of his love and his everything. until & unless he was done dealing with the threats from the mafia people, he wasn't going to get close to anyone who didn't have enough protection to keep them safe, ryan promised himself that.

He had set up few guard onto Sammy, whom she didn't even know about. She was being watched by them all the time and they informed Ryan all over the day about her whereabouts and actions. They told her that she was all alone at the stadium practising for her concert. Her manager had asked his band if they could do the opening for her. They said they would let them know later. They intended to do so but the boys were a mess. Isaiah was hospitalized, Mikey had broken his hand, Ryan had an accident and slightly fractured his arm. He didn't know what was next for Carter, Chester and Elias. He hoped nothing though. He didn't like it when his friends were hurt. Taking this chance to be his opportunity he decided to go meet her at her rehersal. He was going to tell the people at the stadium that he was only there to convey the message of his manager but at the same time spend some private time with her. He knew once he denied for the opening the news would be all over the internet and gossip columns. People would surely believe that they had broken up, so it was a good chance.

It took him fifteen minutes drive to get to the stadium. His arm was bandaged and held around his neck for the support as it was fractured. hey guys! I just thought to let you guys know we couldn't be able to do the opening for samantha. I was passing by & my manager asked me to convey the message. We're kinda busy and as you can see.. I'm not well.. so it's a No' he quickly cooked up a story and talked with her manager. she agreed saying she understood and Ryan went away, towards the stage where Samantha was singing. Once she was done with her song, Ryan slowly clapped trying not to stress his arm. hey babe he smiled and walked over. He had his hoodie on so not a lot of people could recognise him. you were great. I heard you were here so I decided to drop in. You know with all of us sick and broken bones, we can't do the opening for you but I thought I'd meet you before the concert'' he smiled and leaned over, gently kissing her lip. I missed this.. he said, softly kissing her lips once again. Sometimes he just couldn't control himself. He pulled away and handed her a rose, pulling it out of his hoodie's pocket. for you

Sometimes Sam wondered how strong she was and thought about how much it hurt sometimes to be away from Ryan. She truly felt like they were meant to be together and to pretend that they were broken up was very hard on them both emotionally. When Sam turned to find that the clapping came from her boyfriend, she couldn't help but smile. They hadn't seen each other in person in a few weeks which was torture for her. She could feel tears start to pile up in her eyes but she hid it as best she could so no one would notice. All she wanted was to hold him in her arms for hours to make up for the time they had spent apart.

Being careful to put as little stress on Ryan's injured arm as possible, Sam sighed and hugged him back. "Hi babe." When he was hugging her, Sam immediately felt tension release in her body that she didn't even know she had inside. "I completely understand, baby. You guys need to be healthy before that can happen." She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and held both of his hands in hers. "The concert isn't for a few days though. I think you were just desperate for an excuse to come kiss me, which I am very glad you did." She laughed and kissed him back, not even worrying about the fact that her band was watching them. She noticed out of the corner of her eye that her band members were walking off stage, giving the pair some privacy. They all knew Sam and Ryan's situation and understood how crazy both of their schedules were so they knew it was hard to find time to see each other in secret.

It was so nice to have Ryan around right now. In the past, when they were first best friends and then dating, Ryan would attend these rehearsals all the time. He would sit in the middle of the audience and watch the show, giving her his honest opinion on what could be improved and what worked really well. Sam trusted Ryan with her life and knew he wouldn't lie to her if something wasn't working. To have him here meant her whole world was right in front of her. Sam had been alone for two years with no family because she hated the family she had. She lived the life of an orphan, even though her parents were still alive. They were no Mom and Dad to her; she usually called them by their first names. Ryan was the only family she had now aside from their other friends and she was glad he was here to support her.

She blushed when he handed her the rose. "Why thank you, kind sir," she smiled, kissing him again. She grabbed his hand and led him off stage to her dressing room and closed the door so they could spend some time together. She wrapped her arms around him and tucked her head between his shoulder and cheek. "You have no idea how much I miss you every day."

Ryan knew how much important singing was for Sam. Her family life was a mess & the only thing that kept her sane had to be her talent, singing. the one direction boys and sam shared the similarity. He had to be their for her every time she was taking a big step in her life. as far as singing was concerned, he had always been there by her, attending her concerts but due to circumstances he couldn't be there this time. the whole 'fake break up' idea had gotten them separated. they could hardly even see each other now. he hated doing this but he had no choice. he found his excuse & decided to make the best out of it. he knew his manager wouldn't force them to do the opening for samantha after all none of them were in good health. one had a broken hand, the other had broken arms and the third one was hospitalized due to asthama attack along with scars on his body. if the gossiper got a hold of all these stories, they would make a fuss out of it and that was the last thing the band needed at the moment. well I and Mikey would be fine soon, it's Isaiah that we're most worried about. He's so depressed lately, all he likes to do is cut himself. He claims that he loves us and his fans but sometimes I wonder if he really means it because if he really loved us he wouldn't be trying to suicide, he would know that whenever he hurts himself, he hurts us too.. you don't hurt the people you love.. I mean i don't get the point of self harming yourself. '' Ryan found the concept of suicidal attempts and cutting to be a lame act. Even though Isaiah was his friend, ryan wasn't going to support him in this. Self harming yourself was like the biggest crime.
How did you know that? Am I that obvious? he faked a gasp when she said that he needed an excuse and was desperate. well that's true. I can't keep myself too long from not seeing you. he smiled. Her band knew that they were faking to not be together so Ryan didn't mind them being around but it was a good idea that Sam had taken him to her dressing room. He walked along with her and sat onto the couch, pulling her over his lap and wrapping his arms around her waist gently, his chin resting on her forehead. I know you do but hey we talk for hours on skype and texts you shouldn't be complaining. he joked. thought to let you know I've few more guards secretly hired to keep you protected. I know you hate all of this but I promise I didn't mean to put you in such a position../b]

She looked up at Ryan and replied, "I think it's a lot more complex than you think. No one will truly understand what Isaiah is going through because he won't open up to anyone. You guys are his brothers but he probably doesn't want to hurt you all in this. He's probably so sad and he doesn't know how to deal with that or tell anyone. You need to not stress him out by not supporting him. That'll just make things worse." She played with his fingers as they stood in her dressing room.

She giggled when Ryan pulled her down into his lap and laughed a little bit into his shoulder. "We can't help it that we're irresistible huh?" She kissed him. She loved how she felt so warm and loved in his arms. He made her feel protected and it was amazing to be able to enjoy this feeling yet again after so long of not being physically together like this. "It's not the same, though. You know that. I've been having a hard time sleeping. I made Damien sleep over the past 2 weekends because I didn't feel comfortable being alone. I mean I'm getting by but it's just hard."

She reached up and started playing with the hair on the back of his neck. "I don't hate it anymore, Ry. Makes me feel better. You know how I get in crowds. It can get annoying but oh well." She kissed him for about 30 seconds. "Thank you for looking out for me. What would I do without you?" She smiled and kissed him again.
