Rory had been working in LA for nearly all of his life, even attending University of Cali, so it was very rare for him to ever get lost in the bustling streets of LA. When he did, all Rory every really did was take out his pack of Camels, light one of the paper rolls up, and walked around aimlessly. Eventually he always found his way back home, and he'd be back at home with his computer and his cigarettes and coffee and orange juice. When Rory got that, all he'd need was his bed and he'd be content. Ever since he was little, the middle of three always was very independent, usually shut away in his room and only came out when he was called by his parents. He liked to think that he never needed anyone to help him along life, when in reality, that wasn't true. But for now we'd let him think that.
But today was different, seeing as he had gotten himself in a tangle with one of his assignments for the LA times and he couldn't find his way back home, and apparently no taxi's were in view. Rory couldn't get his phone to work, either, he had lost his charger and he was planning to buy a new one, but it had apparently escaped the boy's mind. Instead, he found himself walking towards the beach, the white sand of the beaches pulling him down like quick sand as he walked down the beach.
So, he pulled out his pack of Camels and lit them up and walked casually down the beach, seeing people lining the beach with girls in bikinis sun dancing and guys showing off with their surfboards. If he was to be lost, Rory might as well try to look cool with it. He was the epitome of a tumblr boy.
