[/div]I HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO EXPLAIN MYSELF
What was it with Kansas' family just turning up on her turf, it wasn't that she wasn't happy happy to see them or didn't like them, she did, she loved her family, family was everything to her but they were best left where they belonged miles from her. She had done well at keeping her secrets since she arrived in LA because no one here knew her well enough to pick up when she was hiding something, that wasn't a luxury she had with family, certainly not her brother Levi, he was like a basset hound at sniffing out her secrets and she could tell he was already suspicious of her and how she was acting funny with him now he'd moved to town. It wasn't just her side job that she had to hide from them, it was everything that had happened back home to make her leave in the first place, her brothers were already completely lost on that story, she had never confirmed anything about the marks that had appeared around her neck and why she had ended up with them, everyone in town instantly speculated that she had tried to off herself but her siblings hadn't been quite as sure. Kans couldn't have told them the truth though, that their father had done it, that their old man and only living parent had nearly killed their baby sister. The thought of what they might do was too much for her to handle to, so she left, left for them, left for her father, left for herself.
She'd gone all around the country before she settled in LA for good. She didn't know what it was about LA that made her settle, it could have had something to do with the lovable rogue she had met in Daniel Morressy, it could have been that she stumbled on a beautiful wreck of a house on the outskirts of town on auction that she couldn't resit or it could have be something else or everything all at once. She didn't know all she knew was she was here now and it didn't like she was upping her roots and moving any time soon. Another thing she was unsure of was how long her cousin Alexis had actually been in town, it was a big place so it could have been years for all she knew but they were finally meeting up after who knew how long for a well overdue catch up. She'd had a situation like this only a month or so ago with Levi and that hadn't all that well, with her storming out because she had no idea what to say to him when he started probing her for answers to questions she could only give vague reply's to, vague reply's he refused to take. Hopefully things with Alexis would be a little smoother.
She walked into the coffee shop the two had organised to meet at, ordered a steaming hot coffee before she settled herself in a booth and waited for her cousin to arrive. Kansas had always liked Alexis, she was a no nonsense kind of girl and Kansas liked that about people. They had plenty in common and had always got along like a house on fire when they were younger so she was actually kind of looking forward to this conversation unlike the last. Kans was also not worried about Alexis trying to dig too much into what Kansas was up to, they weren't as close as her and Levi so she would probably not question further when it came to employment when Kansas told her she owned her own garage, Levi had instantly picked something up and asked how she afforded that and gone on and on until Kansas couldn't take his interrogation anymore and just left him here.
Words: ish | Status: finished | Muse: eh | Notes: hope this is ok, im not the best at starting either. also i forgot to mention levi would be her cousin too but i dont see any drama for them, yet.
