The club was packed to capacity, a line up trailing from the door and around the corner. A sea of bodies moved to the beat of the electric house music that flooded the club and spilled out onto the street. LED lights flashed over the crowd and lasers danced patterns and waves on the walls. The heavy bass rattled the ice cubes in the glasses as Alexis served drinks. It was a normal Friday night, two other guys worked behind the bar with her while shooter girls made the rounds out on the floor with trays of shots. Tonight was jello shots prepared in large plastic syringes that were meant to be shot right in the customer's mouth by the shooter girl. It was a clever gimmick that was going over well and was surprisingly profitable. A crash behind her made Alexis turn and roll her eyes, one of the girls had come back to refill and knocked a case of empty beer bottles over. "Nikki, how many have you had tonight?"
Sighing, she turned back to the customers seated at the bar and took their orders. Like it was second nature, she began mixing the shots with some trick pouring and served them up with a sly grin. Hook and line. Alexis pocketed the tip and whipped the bar down with a damp cloth, her green eyes scanning the crowd. Her mind was slightly on edge and she didn't know why which only more confusing. It was rare that she got bothered about anything at work, things really fazed her when she was in this mind set. She knew to trust her instinct and keep an eye on the crowd in case of a fight. Majority of her employees were trained to do the same and the boys were pretty good bring would be brawlers outside before something happened. As a result, it brought in more dancers that felt the club was on the safer side. So many warm drunk bodies stuffed on the dance floor, things were bound to happen, not all fights could be prevented.
Her mind wandered to her early days as a bartender, those wild uncontrolled nights she spent serving under Paul. Paul the pig. He never minded a good grab of her ass until it got too much. She remembered the night she quit... well more like walked out and never came back. That was the night she met Colton and the night he saved her life. Paul now has a nice set of scars thanks to the tall handsome man. She briefly wondered what he was up to now-a-days, that was the first and only time she had met him. But people that save you from perverts tend to be memorable, especially good looking ones. A customer snapped her back to reality, with a large order for his table. With a grin, her mind focused on pouring the order as her hips swayed to the music.
