Riley grumbled as he kicked a rock. Just to make him mad, Brooke took the car, so now he had to walk to Starbucks, which wasn't bad, but he knew how people could get when they see a celebrity, so naturally, along the way, he got mobbed, so he signed some autographs and took some pictures, and then he was on his merry way. Why he liked driving so he didn't have to deal with the fans, reporters, and papparazzi, and maybe that's why Brooke took the car, but as always, his nice-guy factor kicked in, so he just had to endure getting caught until he reached Starbucks.

Once he got to Starbucks, he didn't buy anything. All he wanted was to talk to Brooke. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw two teenage girls who were pointing at him, and whispered-giggled to each other. He looked their way, and gave them a smile, which sent them into a tizzy. While he was doing that, he found Brooke, sitting at a table. Leaving the girls behind, he walked over to where she was, and gave her a small smile. "Mind if I sit down?"[/color] he asked.

She went straight in and ordered a frappachino. She figured every so often she deserved something with a little more calories. She noticed a couple of teenagers pointing and whispering, then they seemed to squeal a little and she noticed why, it wasn’t because of her anymore, it was Riley. She rolled her eyes and then watched him come into the coffee shop, rolling her eyes some more she watched him come over and ask to sit down. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be with him, because she really did and it kind of killed her a little bit that they weren’t together right now and he was standing there. He could have been with other women though for all she knew. It was doubtful though because if he had, no doubt someone would have reported it. She knew she could be a bitch, and a big one at that, but she couldn’t help it because she was like that in school. She was part of the popular crowd, the head cheerleader and with that came the bitchiness and her ego grew. Riley could probably find some hot young thing that wouldn’t treat him the way she did, but if she was honest, she didn’t think she was that mean to him. Yes, she was bitchy and she kinda pushed him around a lot, so much, but despite all that, he still wanted to be with her and no one else. They had their problems but they always worked it out, this was just one of the times it was much more complicated that normal. It was usually stupid things that didn’t really matter but they always got through it because she believed that they were meant to be together. She looked at him and rolled her eyes, Oh, so you’ve decided that you want to be around me now? she raised her eyebrow You finally want to hear my end of the story instead of believing the tabloids? she said bitterly. They had told each other that they would never let things that the press wrote effect their relationship and now they couldn’t say that because it had happened. She looked at him with daggar eyes for a while. she didn’t really want him to sit down, but she guessed that she would give him a chance. Fine, sit down she knew there were people around, people watching them…..nothing was secret right now and the teenagers across the room were listening in. If you really want to talk, it isn’t exactly the right place to do so she told him with a knowing look and tilting her head to the table of girls. I don’t want to be front page news again she said honestly. The truth was that she was still getting offers for parts, people wanted her on their show….but she knew that was because of her relationship. At least all this hadn’t effected her chances of getting parts. She still had it. Maybe we should go and talk somewhere a little more private she shrugged and got up. You can either follow or I’ll walk out on my own she told him. It was rather obvious to the pair of them who wore the trousers in the relationship, but she didn’t really listen to that kind of thing, Riley had plenty of say in their relationship. Brooke was just more persuasive, she seemed to have a hold on him though. So, what will it be? she asked him. Riley kept the smile on his face when Brooke spoke. "Of course I want to be around you. You are my girlfriend, aren't you?"[/color] Riley said, looking at her. Even if he could have any girl he wanted, he always chose Brooke because she was the first girl who didn't want to use him for fame or to get their hands on his money. And even though she could be mean, he really did love her. Not even when he and Alex went to the strip club, all he could think about was Brooke. He bit his lower lip. "You know the press just want to get a raise out of us. You know I'll come to you when I want to know if it's true or not."[/color] Being famous does have it's tolls, and being plastered on gossip magazines and the internet was one of them. It almost made Riley wish he never became famous, but acting was the only thing he knew how to do, so he guessed he just had to let the gossip roll off his back for now.

He sat down across from her, and he looked at her again. "I know you don't: I don't want to be on the front page either, but whatever they have to say, we can go to each other, and tell the truth."[/color] he replied. Riley had heard that Brooke had been getting parts like crazy, but he knew part of it was because of his relation to her, and that's what happening with him, too. A lot of directors had wanted him mostly because of his relationship with Brooke. He didn't seem to mind, but he wanted to get parts solely on his talent, not because of his relationship with Brooke.

When she told him he could follow her, he got up. "No, I'll follow you. You're right: this is the wrong place to talk. How about the park?"[/color] he asked, knowing it might be better than Starbucks where people could over-hear them.

She had kind of enjoyed being ‘single’ though she would never say that to anyone, maybe just Blair. She didn’t really know why she was being so bitchy and mean but she kind of wanted to, she was feeling bitchy and when she was in one of her bitchy moods she liked it. It seemed weird but people would get it if they knew her and that was all that mattered. She was being a bitch but it often got her having her own way. Then why didn’t you come sooner? she asked him You’ve had all this time just sitting around doing nothing, probably just being with that annoying friend of yours she said rolling her eyes I did nothing wrong Riley, I was not going to be the one to go back to you she told him I never am she smiled slightly You. however…. she paused slightly If you knew me at all, you’d know I would never cheat on you, so you should have trusted me, and not doubted me just because some stupid tabloid said I was sleeping with someone else she ranted Fine she held her hands up in surrender I admit that I shouldn’t have ditched you at the sushi place, but I really did need to sort it she told him It’s the one thing I hate people writing about, my relationship and who I am supposedly sleeping with. They can say anything else they want, most of it is still not true but yeah….I like to party so what? she went on. The point is that you should have trusted me the first time whne I said it wasn’t true, that should have been it, no matter what I did after she said honestly You actually really did hurt me, so much she looked down at the floor. Yeah, we can she said But it doesn’t mean anything If you don’t take my word she rolled her eyes. This was so frustrating because she’d told him the truth. All this could have been prevented if he had trusted her and taken her word for it instead of doubting her, even if it was only slightly. It just wasn’t fair because she knew the truth and so did Lucas. You have to trust me Riley, or else we’re never going to work….I don’t want it to work she said honestly. It was the truth, if he didn’t trust her then she didn’t want to be with him, she had finally realised that. She loved him but couldn’t be with someone who couldn’t trust her. She got up and saw him follow her out and she made her way to the park, she put her sunglasses on so she wouldn’t be noticed as easily. They finally got to the park and found a spot they could sit down, it was out of the way from everyone else. She looked at him Riley…I’ve loved the time we have been together….I love you….I just…. she paused and looked around to check there really wasn’t anyone around. Maybe we need some space, you know? Just to figure things out. That way we know what we really want she said I know I love you and I know that I want to be with you, I just need time, I am enjoying being with my friends, I just…we need this, we need to just be apart for a little while, it will do us good since all we do is fight she nodded with tears in her eyes. Why Riley hadn't gotten a hold of her was because he wanted to give her time to cool off, and for him to think about their relationship, which has been on everyone's minds lately. "I know, I'm sorry. I just thought you'd wanted some time to yourself."[/color] Riley explained, flinching at her bitter tone. He had seen Brooke mad (and several times, it was at him, too), but clearly he messed up big time, and there was no way of fixing it.

Riley almost scowled at Brooke when she called Alex annoying. Of course, he knew Brooke and Alex disliked each other, but he knew he would never say anything mean about Blair because she was Brooke's best friend. But, he remained expressionless as he spoke. "Like I said, I wanted things to cool off before I went to talk to you. As for Alex being annyoing, he and I were doing what you and Blair were probably doing: having fun."[/color] It was like saying his family was annoying, and Riley would stand up for anyone he cared about, including Alex and Brooke. As he listened to her talk, there was that word, trust, again. He said the same thing to Alex at the strip club, but when Brooke used it, it made him like he was the bad guy, and Brooke was the victim, which made sense. Once she was done, he looked at her. "I'm sorry I hurt you, Brookella."[/color] he said quietly. What else could he say, when he got the tongue-lashing of a life-time?

He nodded. He didn't say anything, because he knew she was right. If he didn't trust her, then how they have a solid relationship? Everything he believed in, trust and honesty, probably ruined his relationship with the only girl he loved, but he couldn't stop it. He knew he couldn't, and just have to let Brooke say what she wanted.

Once they were at the park, he sat down next to Brooke. "I know: I love you, too, Brookella."[/color] He didn't bother calling her by her nick-name, Brooke, because he knew what was coming...he just didn't know if he could take it. He looked at her. "I understand."[/color] Riley didn't make a fuss. He didn't need to say anything else because what Brooke had said it all.

She wanted to slap him and didn't even care that she was in public. She resisted the urge though, but it was so hard to do it. She really didn't like him right now, she got that he was giving her space but him not calling just annoyed her. She was the stubborn one, and a woman, he should know that he would have to be the one to contact her. instead you like, stalk me she frowned. It seemed like that though, the fact he had just come in and seen her sitting, not even buying anything.she go he finally wanted to see her but maybe she wasn't ready to see him after all. Riley, Blair and I have been having fun, but no matter how much she kinda doesn't like you she would never try and cloud my judgement and change my view of you she told him she tolerates you, Alex is immature and does things to get on my.....nerves she shrugged. He really does not like me, to think your best friend doesn't like me is upsetting....do you know what he thinks about me? she asked him Blair told me he called us bitchy little brats she laughed slightly. She wasn't one to taddle tale but really mature....huh? she raised her eyebrows again, she was doing that a lot. Honestly she didn't get Alex's deal, he didn't even know her all that well but he acted like he did do. so what exactly is fun for you, I'm sure it's different to the fun we had she bitched. Normally guys would go to a strip club, she knew Riley wasn't really the type, but what guy could honestly resist going there? He would be called gay if he didn't go. Alex Is a bad influence she told him. He hates me, who says he won't turn you against me? she knew that was petty but she was just so upset about it all. She wished none of it had happened. if you loved someone, you were meant to set them free. That's what they said, and that's exactly what she was doing. She scowled when he called her by her full name don't call me Brookella she gave him the dead eye. When he said that he understood and didn't fight it, it made her angry and upset at the same time. She walked closer to him and touched his face softly with her hands then slapped him. goodbye Riley she said. Then turned and walked away. Riley bit his lower lip as he watched Brooke take out her phone, and showed him that he could have contacted her. It was that easy, and he could have called her, or texted her. As quietly as he could, he said: "I could have called you. I could have texted you. But, I wanted to wait until the both of us cooled off."[/color] Sure, that was answer he kept giving, but it was the truth. When she told him that he stalked her, he raised an eyebrow. Maybe it was possible that he knew he would find her there. Was that stalking? "Maybe I knew you were there."[/color] Riley explained, looking at her, with the raised eyebrow.

He glared at her. "Stop: Alex may have tried to change my judgement, but he's still my best friend, like Blair is yours. I know for a fact that he doesn't like you, and I know for certain you don't like him."[/color] He knew once or twice Alex might have called Blair and Brooke brats, but to get on their nerves. Riley tried to say that it was mean to call them that. Riley scowled at her. "He knows I love you, okay? He wouldn't make me turn on you, even if he tried. And he's not a bad influence. What if I said that about Blair? You would say she's not."[/color] Riley replied, defending his best friend.

When Brooke slapped him, he felt it. Whenever Brooke had to do it for a movie, she would say she couldn't do it, and say sorry when she slapped him. But, he really felt it, and he could feel it sting. As he watched Brooke walk away, he sighed, and got up. Riley could hear muffled cries, but he didn't dare go over there. Instead, he said in the direction of where Brooke was. "Good bye, Brooke."[/color] he said quietly as he walked away.
