He is a bit flirtatious but always a gentleman, and he would never be unfaithful to his wife. He is funny, friendly and sweet, and boys and girls alike would be drawn in to his lies, befriending him and in some cases hoping to love him. But on the inside he is sad and depressed. Whenever he and his wife are alone he hits her and emotionally abuses her. He always apologizes, and deep down he is honestly sorry, but his wife no longer believes it. As much as he detests it, abuse has become a drug for him, and no matter how hard he tries to stop, he can't help but hit and hate himself for doing so. Sometimes he wishes that his wife would leave him because he doesn't deserve her anymore, but whenever he thinks those thoughts he simply hits her again, because he knows that she can't leave, because then he would be alone, and Dallas' biggest fear in life is being alone. the history Dallas was a sweet little southern boy: raised with kind parents and a big family, all stretched out under the endless blue sky. Dallas was raised with only the best manners and the sweetest disposition. He was a true gentleman, and he lived that way all of his childhood years. As he got older, Dallas found that he was different from his family. His brother and sisters had simple minds and simple goals: they wanted to stay in the south and raise their own large families under the endless blue sky. They wanted to stay in a small town forever, raising their children to have only the best manners and the sweetest dispositions. But not Dallas. Dallas had dreams of leaving his small town and going some place where there were people who didn't know his name, where he could put his good manners and sweet disposition to use. He wanted to move to New York City. His parents didn't approve of it, and his siblings didn't understand, but it was his grandmother who finally convinced his family to let him go. She said that he had the same fire in his eyes as that his grandfather had. His Grandfather had stayed behind and not gone on to chase his dreams and break free, and he regretted it until the day he died. Dallas' grandmother didn't want the same thing to happen to Dallas. So, College came and Dallas went to NYC. Dallas studied at NYU and found that it was just as he had always dreamed. The city changed him: he learned to loosen up a bit and have fun, forgetting his manners sometimes and souring his sweet disposition a bit, but for the most part he was the same boy he always was. One day, when at a bar, he met the most beautiful girl in all of the world: Drea. Instantly, his good manners and sweet disposition all came back and he charmed her. They both quickly realized that they were perfect for eachother, and they got married younger than either of them had ever planned to. Things were great: Drea was a dancer in the New York Ballet, and Dallas was moving up in the world of buisness. And then something unexpected happened: Drea got pregnant. Dallas, always being a fan of big families, was overjoyed at the news. He was ready to be a father and hoped that Drea would feel the same. She wasn't as thrilled as he was, but she learned to get used to the idea, and soon Drea and Dallas were proud parents-to-be. And then, Dallas' world came crashing down on him. He was laid off from work unexpectedly that morning. His employers realized that they needed to downsize, and Dallas would not fit in their new buisness designs. So he was left jobless in the most expensive city in the world with no source of income and no idea when his next job would be. Later on, he got a call saying that one of his brothers had been in a horrible accident back home in Georgia and he was going into surgery. They didn't know how he was doing or whether or not he'd make it, but they'd call him when they knew. The only thing that got Dallas through the day was the fact that he had a lovely wife at home who was carrying his child, and that she wanted the baby just as much as he did. But when he got home, Drea told him that she had miscarried. Dallas wouldn't be a father after all. He was left with a broken heart and shattered dreams. Dallas had hit rock bottom. He had nothing to be thankful for. His family was hurting, he didn't have a career, and his baby had passed away. The next few weeks were a spiral of blames and anger. Words and tears were exchanged and tensions were high. Dallas finally got an update on his brother, and found out that he had passed away. Drea came home that night less patient than usual. A big fight ensued, and everything, all of the anger and the pain and the sorrow bubbled up inside Dallas. He couldn't take it anymore. The nagging, the insults, the fighting... it was all Drea's fault anyhow. She should have been resting, but she couldn't stop dancing. She couldn't stop and think of someone other than herself for once. Things were said that night that should never have been thought, let alone said. Everything built up and Dallas couldn't fight back. He was trapped in a corner, and there was nothing he could do to get out, so before he could think to stop himself, he slapped. Everything was silent. Dallas couldn't believe what he had done. He apologized up and down and bought Drea things that he couldn't afford. He tried to make everything right, knowing that what he did was so wrong. But no amount of apologizing could change what he had done. A few months later, it happened again. Dallas slowly realized that things went his way if he hit her. He didn't have to try to argue with her anymore. With one slap, one pinch, one twist, he won. Hitting Drea slowly became a drug to him. He never enjoyed it. He knew it was bad for him. He knew that when he did it, he wasn't the only one suffering. But he was embarrassed by it, and used more hits to convince her that the lies he fed her about her bruises were truths. And he couldn't stop. Drea was embarrassed too, and soon she didn;t have to be convinced to lie anymore. Slowly but surely, Dallas began to accept hitting Drea as the norm. Abuse became second nature to him. In a way, he almost depended on it to get through the day. He needed someone to get his anger out on. But he also needed his wife. Hitting her made him feel in control, and holding her made him feel loved. He got a strange mix of conflicting emotions that played at his insides. Neither side of Dallas could win out over the other. A few years later, Dallas got offered a new job in LA. He was excited, it was his dream job. After breaking three of her ribs, Drea agreed that she would leave her dream behind in New York to help him pursue his in LA, and the two moved to California. Now, Dallas and Drea live in LA, and Dallas is a shell of his former self. In public, Dallas and Drea seem to have it all together: he is the most charming southern man with great manners and a sweet disposition, she is the loving, devoted wife who is still just as beautiful as the day they met. But at home, in private, nothing is how it used to be. It kills Dallas that he has changed so much, and there is always a voice in his mind trying to tell him to stop what he does. However, the urge to hit and punch and pull is too strong. Dallas can't overcome it anymore, and submits to his stronger voice that is telling him to abuse. He is beyond repair now. What kills him most is that if his family knew what he had become, what the city had done to him and how it changed him, they would have wished he had never strayed from the endless blue skies of home, where all anyone ever did was raise people to have good manners and sweet dispositions, two things that Dallas can't even dream of having again. the rper » alias: AMY the SECOND » years roleplaying: 5 » other char on the site: Valerie Rae Jones, Bridget Rachel Summers, Evan Michael Talman, Johnathan Isaac Darrow, Bo Augustus Gibson, Dustin Bradley Corgan, Ava Kristen Lawrence » where did you find us?
