[/color]Doctor Luther was born on April 12, 1970 in Blackpool, England. His father was a watchmaker and his mother a seamstress. Growing up, he had few friends but excelled in schoolwork, later being accepted to Oxford where he studied Psychology as well as various other medical sciences before transferring to Harvard to attain his Master's degree and later his doctorate. Following his graduation, he went into the medical field where he worked as a head surgeon and diagnostician for over a decade and has recently left the medical field to pursue psychiatry, having opened his own office in downtown LA.
Doctor Luther has written many books on the study of the mind, one of which was recently used in Oxford to instruct new students in the subject. His work has granted him a lot of prestige in the city of Los Angeles and he has become one of, in not the, most successful and sought after psychiatrist on the West Coast; this draws in all kinds of clientele from A-list celebrities to local attorneys and businessmen, as well as law enforcement.
Unknown to anyone but Dr. Luther himself is his dark secret of being a successful serial killer that has a tendency to dine on his victims' internal organs. He's been quiet for nearly a year, but before then would kill a victim regularly, going after the same type of people: fair skinned, dark headed, brown eyed and in their mid-twenties. His killings were done with surgical precision, though he always kept his victims alive as he cut them up and stole their organs which he would later cook and eat at his home.
He killed twelve people over a three-year time-span and the police were never able to catch him. Eventually, he stopped killing and the trail went cold for Federal authorities, though they still occasionally whisper about the California Cannibal.
[/color]Harlan is a very kind, social individual who is polite, refined and is overall easy to get along with. Most of his clients are invited to his home for dinner as well as those he works with regularly or people he takes an interest in. He is a fantastic cook, allowing for the dinner to promote social building between himself and others. All in all, his clients and people he trusts and enjoys the company of would be in this category.
[/color]Enemies are what everyone has, Harlan has many though they don't know who they are truly angry at. Most people who are enemies with Dr. Luthor are families of those he murdered though would see Harlan on the street and have no clue he was the one who ate their daughter's liver. There are also those who dislike his proper nature and ways of psycho-analyzing others regardless of the setting as it can be annoying.
[/color]Love is something Dr. Luther doesn't have nor needs. He finds the pleasure he gets from his work as well as his victims to be enough to satisfy him.

Despite his darker side, he takes great pride in his work and is one of the primary authorities on the human mind in the United States. I can see him being patient with Alison, trying to get down to the deeper reasons for why she's childish.
