pearl had arrived to the party with adam but he was way off in the corner playing beer pong with some guys. he had a way of captivating a party crowd so easily. pearl was in a nearby corner sipping on her mix of tequila and coke in her red solo cup. she searched the crowds for a sign of bo, jake, or his brother, and desperately searched for a familiar face. her eyes fell to the ground as she realized how alone she felt at this party. her affair with jake's brother was killing her from the inside out, she couldn't help but let the guilt eat at her everyday. the sad part was she was in love with him and he had no clue. he just wanted to keep it a secret forever, maybe even a friends with benefits sort of thing. pearl had never imagined her life like it was now. the little preschool pearl wouldn't be caught dead stuck between two guys. with jake, everything just felt right, he was the light at the end of the tunnel. with his brother, she was a brand new person, he was so passionate and fiery that it made pearl feel like she was electric. pearl shook these thoughts from her head and tried to watch adam's beer pong game, she was his own cheerleader it seemed.

she got up from her slouching position on the wall and downed the last of her drink. it was her first drink and she was already ready to get wasted. her mind was filling with thoughts of guilt and all she wanted to do was forget. if there was one person she was dying to talk to right now it was kevin. he was her childhood bestfriend and was the only guy who knew her through and through. he had accepted everything about pearl, even the dark parts of her. he was her own therapist, she couldn't ask for a better bestfriend than kevin. she walked through a couple small crowds of people towards the kitchen to grab another drink. she filled her cup with 1/4 coke and the rest tequila. she took a sip and winced at the strong drink. she suddenly looked up and saw kevin, he wasn't supposed to be at the party.. he was supposed to be at some charity gala with his family. "KEVIN! she screamed over the music and embraced him tightly, "i haven't see you in so long, i've missed you." pearl said stumbling back from him and taking another sip from her drink. "you ready to party?" pearl asked raising an eyebrow in question.

in all honesty, kevin would rather be at home watching tv alone than where he is right now. a charity gala or ball thing. its not that kevin doesn't like helping people with the charity, but they honestly didn't even need him around. he's a high school student. what can he do around that place anyway? his parents only makes him attend those galas with them so they'd have a good image to other people. so they could brag about how kevin is 'following their footsteps into success'. or to maybe get him friendly with some daughters of rich people in the gala. it was just simply senseless. but he couldn't do anything about it. no. his father has a control of his life. he would gladly attend these parties if he had his friends with him. if he had pearl, jake and his twin, bo, wesley and adam around. his father never really liked the fact of that. he wasn't sure if his father hated them or if his father was just really the person who 'takes things seriously'. then there was his step-mother that was only actually cares of his existence whenever his father is around and whenever there are other people at the house.

kevin sighed and leaned back at the chair. his parents were off chatting with some business accompaines and almost all of the people were already waltzing around. it was all boring without the 'youtube crew', as they call themself. they make everything fun. if it wasn't for them, kevin is living a dull life. he can actually be himself. he isn't so trapped anymore. kevin looked at his watch and slouched. his parents weren't there to tell him what to do anyway. everyone of his friends were off to party perhaps. except wesley. they were at the house party getting drunk. kevin was used to their behavior by now. he'd just normally stay sobber and watch them all, rather than get wasted and make a mistake... like... what pearl did. but he could never lecture her about it. he couldn't bring his heart to make her even more guilty. "you know, you should go to wherever your friends are at." he heard someone say. he looked up and saw his aunt, who actually acts like his mother most of the time. "i would but..." he said and looked back at his parents. his aunt just smiled and shrugged. "you can go by my permission. this is MY gala after all. they can't hurt you since you didn't exactly escape." she winked. kevin let a grin. "thanks auntie." he said and stood up then went to his car, thankfully he brought his car with him, and went home. he changed his clothes into something ... less formal. a simple polo and pants and he's off. it wasn't a long ride to the house party but being there, it already let out the aroma of alcohol and music was pumping. kevin sighed and ran a hand through his hair. nothing new. he let himself inside and looked for that brown mop of hair. after minutes, he finally spotted her and walked to her with a smile on his face. kevin let out a chuckle and wrapped on arm around her, you're always leaving me to go with your boyfriend. he joked. though, he wasn't sure if he was talking about jake or the other twin. he didn't want to be specific. kevin pulled out and smelled alcohol in her breath. kevin wanted to make a face but stopped himself. kevin took the bottle of alcohol away from her and shook his head, "can't you survive without getting drunk tonight?

pearl's drinking had gotten far worse after she started hanging out with adam. the two of them always got into some major trouble and had wicked adventures together. meeting each other was not only a burden to those around them but it was burden on her kidney. she was only seventeen and she was drinking like a fat fifty year old bachelor. pearl just wanted to live it up and not care about what she did. life was about no regrets but since her drinking habits started, she has accumulated more regrets. she had regretted ever starting cheating on jacob. jacob had always been so good to pearl, giving her nothing but love. she had betrayed his trust by sleeping with the one person that could potentially hurt him the most. not only that, pearl was in love with him.

pearl watched adam as he became the beer pong champ of the entire party. she had never been any good at beer pong, she had left that all up to adam and the other guys. jacob and adam made an excellent team. wesley had opted out of most parties claiming they would kill all his brain cells. she wondered where kevin was in the midst of this crowd. he had told pearl he wouldn't be here tonight and it wasn't like him to just ditch a gala. she started to grow restless so she went to the kitchen to pour herself another drink. her phone had zero missed texts or calls, she considered sending him a text to see how the gala was but she didn't wanna bug him. her thoughts were stopped when she saw him walking towards him. kevin wasn't a drinker, he never was. pearl was already stumbling around and she wasn't even fully drunk yet. "well, you'll be happy to know.. jacob ditched me tonight." pearl pouted then started to laugh, she hated being alone and sure was glad she wasn't anymore. kevin took the bottle from her fingers and pearl let go without hesitation. kevin just wanted the best for her, "fine, no more drinks... for now." pearl said giggling, she drank the remainder that was in her red solo cup. she took kevin's hand and intertwined her fingers in his and led him through the crowds of people, saying hi to some people as she passed. she led him to a nearby hallway where there weren't any people and the loud music was muted by several concrete walls. "what are you doing here anyways kevin? your gala?" pearl asked cocking an eyebrow, "it's not like you to leave early, you're usually more polite than that." pearl said stumbling a bit in her heels.
