There are people, you just keep coming back to
"Jordan that's not fair. You know why I don't come back... Yeah I kno... No! It goes both fucking ways y'know, yall could always come here... how is that any different?!" this phone argument carried on much longer than Kansas would have hoped and it wasn't one she hadn't had before and it certainly wouldn't be the last time she had it either. She got these calls on a regular basis from all 4 of her elder brothers making her feel guilty for never going back home since she moved away at the age of 18. They always ended the same way, with her getting too flustered and annoyed at even the idea of going back and having to face her past that she hung up and throwing something (more often than not, her phone) at a wall followed by barking orders at one of her employees (who she always apologised to when she had cooled off). There was so much that she was missing back home and all of her siblings made sure she know every drop of it, she had missed her little niece and nephew growing up, had never met one of her brothers wives or his kid and she could tell that they were getting beyond tired of her absesnse but she just couldn't go back, she couldn't show her face in a town where everyone thought she was a suicidal maniac, she couldn't see her brother because they couldn't know about he side job and she wasn't sure she could ever face her father again after the incident right before she left. She told herself over and over that she had forgiven him, and it wasn't that she was afraid of him but she just couldn't face the thought of seeing him, and who knew what she would do when and if she did, she was unpredictable at the best of times. Then there was the added fact that no one knew what had happened that night. No, going back just wasn't an option.
That day had been a quiet one, there weren't many cars in the shop and all of them with only minor work to be done on them so she had spent most of the day killing time organizing things around the place and the rest of it playing angry birds as well as anyone can with a cracked screen. The fact the day was slow meant she was also the only one in which is what lead to the phone call she was currently having, silly mistake to just call her eldest brother for a chit-chat really, especially when she knew this was how it would develop. "Why can't we just have a civilized conversation with the same old shit coming up every time Jord?! You bitch that we don't talk enough and all that and then whenever we do you just argue with me!" this was usually the beginning of the end of these kind of conversations. She heard the bell of the front door go and made her way to the reception still holding the phone to her ear with her brother shouting back at her down it.
hope this works for you xD
