[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]This here is Garrald's fatal attraction and is one of two FBI agents actually trying to find him (unbeknownst to them at the time). She is a relatively new agent having only been with the Bureau for a year and has been assigned to the serial killings in Los Angeles along with her partner who is much more experienced and often critical of her naive nature. Despite her being naive in many ways having grown up in a sheltered home with two devout Catholic parents that had sent her to Catholic Girls' School early in her life, she is very passionate about her job and will stop at nothing to see criminals put behind bars.
During her investigation, she meets Garrald (the killer she's after, but unaware that he has taken interest in her solely for information on the case to keep a step ahead) and the two will eventually develop a friendship, even if fake on his side. Chances are, in her naivity, she will begin to trust Garrald and likely fall in love with him though this is at the discretion of whomever decided to create her. Eventually, it will come to a head that Garrald is the serial killer and she will have to deal with that realization while he will respect her enough not to kill her, but will likely taunt her with clues and the like. (Think Hannibal Lecter/Clarice Starling)

If you do wish to explore the romantic side, keep in mind that Garrald will not have genuine feelings in return and only be using her for information while he is truly in love with the person below.

[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]This here is the victim of Garrald that manages to escape (the only one, mind you) and is the one person able to bring a face to the killer the police and feds have been hunting down. She's a young college student that was a cheerleader in high school but never really liked it and only did it for a scholarship to university. She's natively from New York City and is still a virgin though doesn't let it get out that she is if she can help it.
She was part of a cover up with her sorority sisters when they accidentally killed a pledge in a hazing incident. In order to effectively cover it up, they attributed it to a local rapist that was on a spree and sent an innocent man to jail. Garrald goes after her due to her dishonesty and putting an innocent man behind bars for going on two years now but she manages to get away and is hunted by Garrald regulary afterward.
One interesting fact about her is that she and Garrald were once in a relationship for over a year and broke up due to the mob lifestyle he was living at the time and the past is what keeps the killer from finishing the job with the girl he used to love and still holds feelings for thus making their cat and mouse game very personal and one that she wants to face on her own without help from the authorities.

forty-two, by-the-book, sarcastic, distant, middle, michael mcgrady[/center]
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]This is the older, more experienced partner of Kristen. He's been in law enforcement for years, having worked as a homicide detective in the NYPD before joining the FBI and was a US Army sniper before then. He served through Desert Storm and isn't a man to be easily pushed around nor veered off his case.
He's currently the field agent in charge having taken the Zenith case over from the local police and, while he has a small team of agents working under him at the local LA field office, he tends to work only with Kristen and is overly critical of her trusting nature and will be concerned about the friendship to develop between his partner and Garrald.
He smokes heavily and has been through many divorces but is a devoted family man in regards to his two daughters who are attending college in LA which makes the case too close to home and despite his by-the-book nature, if he feels his kids are threatened by the killer, he will act without thinking which could get him killed. It will be up to his younger partner to keep him in check and ensure he's keeping it together once the killer begins toying with them.

There is a possibility that he can be injured/killed by Garrald, according to writer discretion, though this is not a requirement and he is meant to be the smart-ass old man keeping his twenty-something partner in line while chasing a psychopath.
